How much does the 2022 GMC Yukon XL cost?

Prices have softened 12.78% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,519 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2022 GMC Yukon XL a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its power, comfort, and large cargo space, and they also like the loaded features and smooth ride. The Yukon XL’s long-wheelbase design makes it especially appealing if you want extra third-row room and more cargo space for family duty, towing, or everyday hauling. With 32.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2022 GMC Yukon XL reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary also points to a vehicle that many owners find dependable in daily use, with praise centered on comfort, power, and a trouble-free-feeling ownership experience for most drivers. That said, some concerns about motor issues were raised, so used buyers should pay close attention to maintenance records and how the vehicle has been cared for over time. For long-term ownership, the biggest risk is buying a poorly maintained example, so condition and service history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 GMC Yukon XL?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then inspect the vehicle closely for signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or deferred maintenance. Because some concerns about motor issues have been raised, a pre-purchase inspection is especially important if you want to reduce risk. Focus on overall condition, service records, and how well the SUV has been maintained rather than just the asking price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 GMC Yukon XL?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting deep bargain-bin pricing.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,519 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.78% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $44,736, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 GMC Yukon XL's resale value?

The current average of $44,736 sits slightly below last year's $51,292.

That price decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. Well-kept examples should hold up better than average because shoppers still value the Yukon XL’s space, comfort, and capability.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 GMC Yukon XL or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2022 is a strong choice if you want the Yukon XL’s space, comfort, and modern features while taking advantage of a softer used-car market. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2022 looks like the better all-around pick when you want a balance of value, satisfaction, and inventory depth.
