Used 2022 GMC Yukon for Sale nearBaton Rouge, LA

How much does the 2022 GMC Yukon cost?

Prices have softened 12.33% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,572 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare trims and prices.

Is the 2022 GMC Yukon a good car?

Yes — the 2022 GMC Yukon earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

It fits buyers who want a full-size SUV with a more upscale presentation than a basic utility vehicle, and its standard 12-inch driver information center plus enhanced connectivity help modernize the cabin. The Yukon’s strengths include multiple powertrain options, a powerful engine, and plenty of cargo space, but it is also held back by poor fuel economy and poor value for money.

The main trade-offs are the weak fuel economy and the value proposition, especially if you’re comparing it with other large SUVs that may cost less to run or feel more affordable up front. Even so, 40.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you room to shop carefully.

Is the 2022 GMC Yukon reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 Yukon’s redesign brought meaningful gains in space, ride quality, and technology, and the available adaptive air suspension helps improve comfort and handling. Its powertrain lineup also includes a diesel option with strong torque and excellent fuel economy, plus a five-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty for that engine.

The dependability picture is helped by the model’s broad capability and the fact that the safety and tech systems are well integrated, but used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and how the vehicle was driven, especially if it was used for towing or frequent short trips.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 GMC Yukon?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any specific vehicle you’re considering, because accident-free inventory is a market-wide figure, not a guarantee for the one you want. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the suspension, brakes, tires, and any signs of heavy towing or off-road use. Focus on overall condition, because a large SUV like this can hide expensive wear if it was used hard.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SLE already has a premium look with plenty of chrome, but it uses cloth seats, while the other trims step up to perforated leather. The AT4 adds unique front styling with a dark grille, skid plate, and red recovery hooks, while the Denali brings the most upscale cabin treatment, heated and cooled front seats, and interior designs not found on other trims.
• Powertrain: You get three engine choices: a 5.3-liter V8, a 6.2-liter V8, and a 3.0-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder. The diesel stands out for its torque and excellent fuel economy, while the 6.2-liter V8 is the strongest gas option.
• Safety package: Every Yukon comes with GMC Pro Safety, which includes automatic emergency braking with front pedestrian detection, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, following distance indicator, and automatic high-beam headlights. GMC Pro Safety Plus is available on SLE and standard on SLT and above, adding lane-change alert with blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear park assist.
• Infotainment: The Yukon has a 10.2-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Google Built-In, and wireless phone charging on all but the SLE. AT4 and Denali also get three years of connected services.
• Fuel efficiency: The Yukon returns 16-17 mpg combined with either V8 engine, while diesel versions average 22-23 mpg combined. GMC says the diesel can travel up to 648 miles on a tank.

Which 2022 GMC Yukon trim should I buy?

The 2022 GMC Yukon is offered in 4 trim levels: SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali.

Here's the short version:

• SLE: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the Yukon’s upscale exterior presence, standard seating for eight, and the core safety and tech features. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and don’t need leather or the extra convenience features found higher up.
• SLT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds perforated leather and unlocks more comfort and convenience without jumping all the way to luxury pricing. It also gets GMC Pro Safety Plus standard, which adds blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear park assist.
• AT4: Choose this if you want the off-road-oriented look and hardware, including the dark grille, skid plate, red recovery hooks, and standard 4WD. It also gets heated and cooled front seats and a two-speed transfer case.
• Denali: This is the luxury pick, with the most distinctive interior treatment, standard second-row captain’s chairs, heated and cooled front seats, and the most premium presentation overall. It’s the right choice if you want the Yukon to feel as upscale as possible.

GMC Pro Safety Plus is available on SLE and standard on SLT and above.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 GMC Yukon?

This looks like a buyer-friendly moment if you’re shopping carefully, because prices have eased and there’s enough inventory to compare deals.

• Deal availability: 40.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,572 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.33% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $46,614, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 GMC Yukon’s resale value?

The current average of $46,614 sits slightly below last year's $53,173.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, that also means your resale outcome will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim choice rather than broad market momentum alone.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 GMC Yukon safe?

The 2022 GMC Yukon earns four-star ratings in front crash protection and rollover, and five-star ratings in side crash protection from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2022 Yukon comes with GMC Pro Safety, which includes automatic emergency braking with front pedestrian detection, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, following distance indicator, and automatic high-beam headlights. GMC Pro Safety Plus is available on SLE and standard on SLT and above, adding lane-change alert with blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear park assist.

A key caveat is that the current-generation Yukon had not been tested by IIHS at the time of this data, so you should lean more heavily on the standard safety equipment and the NHTSA results when evaluating it.

Should I buy a 2022 GMC Yukon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 40.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 adds a standard 12-inch driver information center and enhanced connectivity.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $41,757, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $46,614 average.
• It delivers meaningful gains in space, ride quality, and technology.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around shopping conditions and the added 2022 equipment, the current year is the better target. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2021 is the value play, especially if you can find one in excellent condition with the features you want.
