CarGurus Analysis: 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E

Summary
With 2,110 currently listed for sale and an average price of $27,066.00, 40.3% of 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-Es for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E 4.3 / 5 stars.

Why it stands out
The 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E stands out as an electric SUV that blends Mustang branding with a distinctly modern EV personality. It was one of Ford’s first mass-market electric vehicles, and it arrived with the kind of sharp handling and stylish design that helped it make an impression beyond the controversy surrounding its name. It also brought a strong feature set for the class, including standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free highway driving tech, which gave it an early edge in driver-assistance capability.
For 2022 specifically, Ford increased the usable battery capacity and the range. The Mach-E also offered a wide spread of powertrains and battery choices, with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, standard-range or extended-range batteries, and outputs ranging from 266 horsepower to 480 horsepower depending on configuration. Inside, it came with a 15.5-inch vertical infotainment screen, Ford’s Sync 4A operating system, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and Ford’s Co-Pilot360 safety suite as standard equipment. Those strengths make it appealing to buyers who want an EV that feels well equipped and enjoyable to drive.
There are tradeoffs, though. The 2022 model year is part of the Mach-E’s early run, and the guide notes that the first three model years were beset with consumer complaints and recalls. It also points to the high-voltage battery junction box issue as a major concern for 2021 and 2022 models with the extended-range battery, especially GT trims, where the problem could leave the car immobile. Even so, for shoppers focused on style, technology, and performance, the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E remains a distinctive and compelling used EV.

I just bought a mustang Mach e. This is an awesome car. It's my first Ev so i need to get use to the mileage and 1 pedal breaking. But I'm really glad I made the move to electric. And the mustang Mach e has a real sexy look. It doesn't look like any other cookie cutter suv.

What a great car. Outstanding performance & driveability. It’s great looking … all my coworkers keep asking about it. The tech is very well integrated. While the car comes with Alexa, I find Apples Siri will update me on charge levels. The one negative … 250 miles per charge. I wish it were closer to 300 as so many other cars are. But, I am impressed with the widely available charging network. Ford has done an outstanding job!

How much does the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $27,012 |
| Year-Round Low | $25,221.02 |
| Year-Round High | $28,703.20 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $28,708 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −5.91% |

There are 2,188 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.
If you find a listing below $25,221.02, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E a good car?
Generally — the 4.3/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the outstanding performance, smooth driving experience, and stylish design, while also appreciating the tech features and the extensive charging network. For you, that makes this a strong fit if you want an electric SUV that feels engaging to drive and well equipped for everyday use. With 40.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market also gives you a decent chance to find attractive pricing.
Is the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E reliable?
Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback highlights reliable-feeling ownership traits such as smooth driving and strong day-to-day usability, and it also points to a vehicle many drivers feel good about living with over time. That said, early-run used EVs can carry more ownership risk than later updates, so you should pay close attention to service history and battery-related condition before you buy.
What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the car’s records are clean. Put inspection priority on overall condition, with extra attention to signs of prior damage, charging-related wear, and how the vehicle presents in person. Because this model year is part of the Mach-E’s early run, a careful pre-purchase inspection matters even when the listing looks clean.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E?

- Deal availability: 40.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 2,188 listings available.

What is the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E's resale value?
The current average of $27,012 sits slightly below last year's $28,708.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy with less risk of immediate overpaying. For a future seller, it also means resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car stands out against the broader used inventory. Strong pricing discipline now can help preserve more value later if you keep the vehicle clean and well documented.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 40.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.91% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $23,674, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $27,012 average.
- It introduced the Mach-E as Ford’s first mass-market electric SUV.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $30,784, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $27,012 average.
- It adds enhanced BlueCruise and updated range-focused trims.
The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around pick if you want a balanced mix of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is spending less, the 2021 is the smarter value play; if you want newer updates and are willing to pay more, the 2023 is the better upgrade path.
