Is the 2022 Dodge Durango reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a vehicle that many owners find dependable, with praise centered on a smooth ride and strong everyday usability. That said, the model’s long-term ownership picture depends heavily on condition and maintenance history, especially given the known concerns around this generation. For used buyers, the safest path is to prioritize well-documented examples and avoid anything with signs of deferred maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Dodge Durango?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report and confirm there are no accident or title issues before moving forward. Then put inspection priority on maintenance records and the vehicle’s overall condition, since this model year’s ownership experience can vary a lot by how well it was cared for. Focus especially on signs of neglected repairs or inconsistent service, because a clean-looking listing is not enough on its own.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Dodge Durango?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,601 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.67% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 80.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $29,561, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Dodge Durango's resale value?

The current average of $29,561 sits slightly below last year's $32,367.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For future resale, a lower purchase price can reduce your depreciation exposure if you keep the vehicle in strong condition. Well-kept examples with complete service records should be easier to position later, especially if demand stays steady for this model’s performance-oriented appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $26,119, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $29,561 average.
• It adds a new infotainment system and a stronger performance lineup.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $33,017, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $29,561 average.
• It adds standard heated front seats and brings back the Hellcat as a regular model.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around choice if you want a balance of price, availability, and owner satisfaction. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2021 is the smarter value play, while the 2023 makes sense if you want the newer feature set and are willing to pay more.
