How much does the 2022 Cadillac Escalade cost?

Prices have softened 8.72% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,015 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Cadillac Escalade earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10. Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, advanced technology, and spacious interior, and they also call out the OLED screens and larger cargo area. The Escalade’s use-case appeal is strongest if you want a flagship-size luxury SUV with big-screen tech and lots of configuration flexibility. The main trade-offs are poor ride quality and interior materials that feel cheap. Even so, 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The user feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable and trouble-free in day-to-day ownership, with owners especially appreciating the technology and spaciousness. The expert evaluation also emphasizes the Escalade’s sophisticated systems and strong overall execution, which supports confidence in long-term use. Cadillac’s four-year, 50,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and six-year, 70,000-mile powertrain warranty add some ownership reassurance, but used buyers should still watch for maintenance history and wear on a large, complex luxury SUV.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Cadillac Escalade?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a documented record. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on electronics, suspension behavior, and signs of heavy use. On a vehicle this large and tech-heavy, condition matters as much as mileage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Luxury trim gets bright exterior trim and wheels, while Sport models use darkened trim, including a mesh grille. The base Luxury trim also misses some driver-assist equipment that appears on higher trims.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 6.2-liter gasoline V8 and a Duramax 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six diesel. The diesel is the efficiency play, while the gasoline engine has the higher towing rating.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assist tech includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, front and rear park assist, lane-keep assist, and lane-departure warning. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on Premium Luxury and higher, while trailer blind-spot monitoring is standard on Premium Luxury Platinum trims and above. Super Cruise is unavailable on the base Luxury model.
• Infotainment: The Escalade uses a 38-inch curved OLED display made up of a 14.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 16.9-inch touchscreen, and a 7.2-inch left-side screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system can also be equipped with night vision and augmented-reality navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The gasoline V8 is rated at 16 mpg combined, while the Duramax diesel is rated at 23 mpg combined with RWD and 22 mpg combined with 4WD.

Which 2022 Cadillac Escalade trim should I buy?

The 2022 Cadillac Escalade is offered in 5 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury Platinum, and Sport Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the Escalade’s core appeal, including the big-screen tech and standard driver-assist basics. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without some of the extra safety and convenience features found higher up.
• Premium Luxury: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds important safety equipment like blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. It also fits the Escalade’s luxury mission better if you want a more complete feature set without jumping to the top end.
• Sport: Choose this if you prefer the darker exterior treatment and want the Escalade’s upscale presence with a more aggressive look. It is more about style than a major equipment jump.
• Premium Luxury Platinum: This trim adds more premium content and brings trailer blind-spot monitoring standard. It is the right pick if you want a more fully loaded Escalade with stronger towing-related confidence.
• Sport Platinum: This is the top-end choice if you want the most upscale, fully equipped version with the Sport appearance theme. It suits buyers who want maximum presence and are willing to pay for it.

Super Cruise is a $2,500 option on most trim levels but is unavailable on the base Luxury model.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Cadillac Escalade?

The market looks selective rather than overheated, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,015 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.72% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $60,029, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade's resale value?

The current average of $60,029 sits slightly below last year's $65,766.

That price movement suggests the Escalade has already absorbed some of its recent market softness, which can help future sellers if demand stays steady. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less downside risk than someone who bought when prices were higher. Strong demand for large luxury SUVs and the Escalade’s high owner satisfaction can also help support resale interest over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade safe?

The 2022 Cadillac Escalade did not receive published crash-test ratings from IIHS or NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance equipment includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, front and rear park assist, lane-keep assist, and lane-departure warning. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on Premium Luxury and higher trims, while trailer blind-spot monitoring is standard on Premium Luxury Platinum and above. Super Cruise is available on most trims, but it is not offered on the base Luxury model.

Should I buy a 2022 Cadillac Escalade or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds standard lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning on the base Luxury trim.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $54,841, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $60,029 average.
• It introduced the redesign and the big OLED display.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $66,427, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $60,029 average.
• It carries over the tech-rich cabin with mostly unchanged strengths.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the smart middle ground if you want the redesigned Escalade with strong tech and a softer market price than newer examples. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better value play; if you want the newest comparable version and can pay more, the 2023 is the straightforward upgrade path.
