How much does the 2022 Cadillac Escalade cost?

Prices have softened 9.33% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,044 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Cadillac Escalade earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10. Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, advanced technology, and spacious interior, and they also call out the OLED screens and larger cargo area. The Escalade’s use-case appeal is strongest if you want a flagship-size luxury SUV with big-screen tech and lots of room. Trade-offs include poor ride quality and interior materials that feel cheap. With 36.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still gives you some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels smooth, advanced, and spacious, while also emphasizing the Escalade’s technology and overall appeal. The expert review also notes that the diesel powertrain delivers smooth power and strong low-end torque, which supports everyday dependability. Cadillac’s four-year, 50,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and six-year, 70,000-mile powertrain warranty help reduce early ownership risk. For used buyers, the main long-term concern is making sure the truck has been maintained well, since expensive luxury-SUV repairs can add up.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Cadillac Escalade?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a large luxury SUV with complex tech and available driver-assist hardware. Focus on overall condition, because the Escalade’s size, electronics, and premium features can make neglected examples more expensive to sort out. If you’re comparing listings, pay close attention to how the equipment lines up with the asking price.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Escalade is offered in 5 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury Platinum, and Sport Platinum. The base Luxury trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more, since lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning are standard there, while blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert move up to Premium Luxury and higher. The best-value trim is the one that gives you the features you want without pushing you too far up the price ladder.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 6.2-liter gasoline V8 with 420 horsepower and a Duramax 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six diesel with 277 hp. Both pair with a 10-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The diesel stands out for smooth power delivery and strong low-end torque, while the gasoline V8 has the slight towing advantage.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assist tech includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking front and rear, front and rear park assist, lane-keep assist, and lane-departure warning. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on Premium Luxury and higher, and trailer blind-spot monitoring is standard on Premium Luxury Platinum and above. Super Cruise is unavailable on the base Luxury model.
• Infotainment: The Escalade uses a 38-inch curved OLED display made up of a 14.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 16.9-inch touchscreen, and a 7.2-inch left-side screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system also supports Bluetooth connectivity. Cadillac retains physical controls for key functions, which helps usability.
• Fuel efficiency: The gasoline V8 is rated at 16 mpg combined, with 14 mpg city and 19 mpg highway. The diesel is rated at 23 mpg combined with rear-wheel drive and 22 mpg combined with four-wheel drive, and the diesel test vehicle returned an observed 22.3 mpg average.

Which 2022 Cadillac Escalade trim should I buy?

The 2022 Cadillac Escalade is offered in 5 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury Platinum, and Sport Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the entry point, but it’s also the trim most likely to feel stripped down relative to the Escalade’s flagship mission. It gets the core Escalade experience, yet Super Cruise is unavailable here, so you’ll want to compare it carefully against the next step up if advanced driver assistance matters to you.
• Premium Luxury: This is the trim that starts to feel more complete for many shoppers, because blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert become standard here. If you want a better-balanced Escalade without jumping all the way to the top of the range, this is the one to focus on first.
• Sport: Choose this if you prefer the darker exterior treatment and want the Escalade’s presence with a more aggressive look. It keeps the same core strengths, so your decision here is mostly about styling preference.
• Premium Luxury Platinum: This is the more fully equipped luxury choice, and it adds trailer blind-spot monitoring as standard. If you tow or want the most rounded feature set without going all the way to the top, this is a strong candidate.
• Sport Platinum: This is the most upscale sport-themed version, and it pairs the darkened appearance with the richest equipment set. It makes the most sense if you want the Escalade’s maximum presence and are willing to pay for it.

Super Cruise is a $2,500 option on most trim levels but is unavailable on the base Luxury model.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Cadillac Escalade?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,044 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.33% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $59,118, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade's resale value?

The current average of $59,118 sits slightly below last year's $65,202.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you’re starting from a more favorable baseline than a year ago. The Escalade’s strong demand and flagship status should still help support interest from future shoppers, especially if the truck is well equipped and well maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade safe?

The 2022 Cadillac Escalade earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assist tech includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking front and rear, front and rear park assist, lane-keep assist, and lane-departure warning. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on Premium Luxury and higher trim levels, while trailer blind-spot monitoring is standard on Premium Luxury Platinum and above. Super Cruise is one of the Escalade’s biggest safety and convenience advantages, but it is unavailable on the base Luxury model. The review also notes that IIHS and NHTSA did not publish safety ratings for this model year.

Should I buy a 2022 Cadillac Escalade or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds standard lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and Buckle to Drive for everyday convenience.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $54,229, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $59,118 average.
• It introduced the redesign and major tech leap.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $65,857, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $59,118 average.
• It carries over the tech-rich cabin and hands-free driving focus.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, tech, and current-market availability, the 2022 is the smart default. If your budget is tighter, the 2021 can save you money while still giving you the redesigned Escalade experience.
