Is the 2022 BMW X6 a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2022 BMW X6 stands out because it blends the X6’s original coupe-like SUV shape with the third generation’s more aggressive stance and upscale hardware. It also brings a more substantial footprint, a longer body, a wider stance, a lower height, and a stretched wheelbase, which reinforce its sporty character. For you, that means a luxury SUV that prioritizes style, performance, and a high-end feel over conventional utility. 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 BMW X6 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2022 BMW X6 offers strong performance from its six-cylinder and V8 powertrains, paired with an eight-speed automatic. It also comes with adaptive dampers, standard all-wheel-drive hardware on the xDrive40i, and available air suspension, while towing capacity rises to 7,200 pounds. For used buyers, that combination suggests a premium SUV that can deliver a lot of capability, but you should still plan for higher long-term ownership risk than you would with a simpler, less performance-focused vehicle.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 BMW X6?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.1% — always verify the vehicle history report. You should prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the suspension, electronics, and any signs of uneven wear, since this model leans heavily into luxury and technology. If you find a listing below $45,505, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 BMW X6's resale value?

The current average of $45,505 sits slightly below last year's $51,447. That tells you the market has moved down, which can help you buy more favorably now but may also mean future resale gains are more limited if prices stay soft. For a future seller, the key advantage is that the X6 still has a distinctive design and premium positioning, which can help it stand out when demand is steady. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 BMW X6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.55% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the X6’s distinctive styling, strong performance, and upscale equipment, the 2022 is a solid primary target. If your priority is stretching your budget further, you can also consider a different year with a lower asking price, but the 2022 gives you a good mix of market softness and desirable features.
