The 2022 BMW 7 Series is presented as a well-equipped luxury flagship with a strong mix of comfort and capability, which is the kind of profile many used buyers look for in a long-term ownership choice. Its broad powertrain lineup and upscale hardware suggest a vehicle built to deliver a premium experience over time. What should I look for when buying a used 2022 BMW 7 Series?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection that checks for signs of prior damage, deferred maintenance, or expensive electronic issues. Because this is a high-end luxury sedan, condition matters as much as mileage, so pay close attention to the cabin, suspension feel, and the operation of major comfort and tech features. If a car looks especially well kept, confirm that its service history matches its appearance.

• Deal availability: 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

What is the 2022 BMW 7 Series's resale value?

The current average of $41,851 sits slightly below last year's $49,468.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, it also means resale performance will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained. Well-kept examples should hold up better than average because shoppers in this segment tend to reward premium presentation and strong equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 BMW 7 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.40% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $61,069, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $41,851 average.
• It adds a more comfort-focused, refined driving experience with broader appeal.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2022 if you want the better value and a wider pool of listings to compare. If your budget stretches higher and you want the newer-year experience, the 2023 is the better secondary path for buyers who prioritize comfort and driving polish over price.
