About 2022 Audi Q8
The Q8 is what Audi refers to as its flagship, a midsize luxury crossover vehicle built to compete with the likes of sporty, premium crossover SUVs like the BMW X6 and the Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class. It debuted just a few years ago, for the 2019 model year, and is still in its first generation. Launched during the runup to the pandemic, the Q8 has sold surprisingly well, hovering between 12,000 and 14,000 units a year, a figure that BMW has never come close to with the X6. The Audi Q8 is available in three trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. Given the Q8’s relatively short history, and its substantial 2021 updates, it’s the recipient of mostly package changes for the 2022 model year. The Premium trim now comes standard with 21-inch wheels with low-profile all-season tires, plus heated, auto-dimming, power-folding exterior mirrors with memory. The Premium Plus trim receives Audi’s Active Lane Assist and adaptive cruise control with traffic-jam assist. The Executive Package offered on Premium Plus models now includes leather armrests, ventilated front seats, and sunshades for rear-seat passengers. Leather armrests are now standard on the Prestige trim, which also gets an adaptive air suspension for 2022. All 2022 Q8 trim levels feature the same drivetrain: a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 which delivers 335 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. All Q8 models have an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission and Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive (AWD), and all-wheel steering is offered as an available standalone option on the Prestige trim. The Q8 Premium trims features eight-way power front seats with driver four-way lumbar and driver memory, Audi’s Virtual Cockpit Plus, Audi Side Assist with pre-sense rear, and a multimedia interface (MMI, in Audispeak) with navigation and touch response. The Q8 Premium Plus adds ventilation to the front seats with four-way power lumbar support for the passenger, adaptive cruise control with lane guidance, a Bang & Olufsen sound system with 3D sound, a top-view camera with Virtual 360 view, and a four-zone automatic climate control system. The Prestige trim features a Comfort adaptive air suspension, remote park assist plus (not available in New York or Vermont), a head-up display, and power soft-closing doors, as well as the option to add the available Executive package. The 2022 Audi Q8 starts at $69,300 in its base Premium trim. Premium Plus starts at $73,200, and Prestige starts at $79,400.
