What’s New for the 2027 Audi Q8
The Audi Q8 last received a major update for 2024. For 2027, it gets the S line exterior trim as standard and comes with a new 21-inch wheel design. There is also a new optional 22-inch, 10-spoke Y-design wheel with a matte neodymium gold finish, available with the Black Optic package.
Design
The Audi Q8 looks sleeker than most SUVs. The biggest difference between it and the Q7 upon which it is based is a fast rear roofline that saps some cargo space. The nose features a wide version of the brand’s trapezoidal singleframe grille with large open mesh. It combines with the standard matrix LED headlights in a mask-like design, below which sit pronounced air intakes pushed to the corners within gray surrounds. The rear has a roof spoiler, a full-width LED taillight, and more gray trim. The Prestige trim upgrades to OLED taillights and is offered with LED laser high beams. The S Line elements of the design consist of more aggressive front and rear bumpers and side sills than the base versions in previous model years. A Black Optic package comes with black exterior trim, while a Carbon package adds carbon-fiber mirror housings, carbon-fiber side sill inserts, and a carbon-fiber insert between the taillights. Large 21-inch alloy wheels make the Q8 look grounded, and buyers can go for a sportier look with 22s and 23s.
Powertrain
The Q8 draws its power from a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that produces 335 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Power flows through an eight-speed automatic transmission to all four wheels via Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. The EPA rates the Q8 at 17 mpg city, 23 mpg highway, and 19 mpg combined. The Q8 can tow up to 7,700 pounds. While the Q8 has AWD, it’s for all-weather traction, not off-roading. Audi offers no off-road packages for the Q8.
Interior
The 2027 Audi Q8 seats five in two rows. It comes standard with leather upholstery, power-adjustable and heated front seats, tri-zone automatic climate control, and a panoramic sunroof. One rung up the trim ladder, the Q8 adds ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, four-zone automatic climate control, and ambient lighting. The top Prestige gets a combination of Valcona and Cricket leather upholstery, more front seat power adjustments, and massaging front seats. Extended Nappa leather upholstery is optional and covers the dashboard as well as the seats. A Sport Plus package has front sport seats upholstered in Valcona leather. The Q8’s design offers less cargo space than the Q7's, but still provides useful space. It has 33.7 cubic feet behind the second row and 60.7 cubic feet behind the first row with the second row folded flat.
Technology
The Q8 features a three-screen setup that is now old for the brand. It includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, and an 8.6-inch touchscreen for climate controls. Also standard are wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as satellite radio. Moving up one trim level brings a Bang & Olufsen audio system, and the Prestige trim adds a head-up display.
