CarGurus Analysis: 2022 Audi Q5
Summary
With 2,707 currently listed for sale and an average price of $25,002, 43.1% of 2022 Audi Q5 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2022 Audi Q5 5 / 5 stars.

Why it stands out
The 2022 Audi Q5 stands out as a premium midsize SUV that emphasizes comfort, quality, and standard equipment more than flash. Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive is standard, and the Q5’s appeal is rooted in its luxurious interior, upmarket image, and practicality. It also has a smooth and comfortable ride, a roomy cabin, and a well-equipped feel that helps it come across as a polished everyday SUV rather than a stripped-down entry model.
For this generation, the Q5 uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine with 268 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, paired with a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission. Fuel economy is rated at 21 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway with premium fuel recommended. It can tow up to 4,400 pounds, which is more than most of its competitors, and the cabin includes standard leather upholstery, heated front seats, a panoramic moonroof, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 10-speaker audio system. Cargo space is also a strength, with 27.6 cubic feet behind the second row and up to 56.9 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.
There are a few tradeoffs. The Q5 is not as much fun to drive as some midsize SUVs, some models are rather expensive, and its styling is described as unadventurous. Even so, for buyers who want a refined luxury SUV with strong standard features, useful space, and a premium feel, the 2022 Audi Q5 makes a convincing case.

I searched for a lot of vehicle wanting either four wheel or all wheel drive. I found the Audi Q5 premium plus S line 45 TFSI, checked all my boxes. The four cylinder turbo engine has enough go in it to make driving fun, although it can feel a little under powered. I purchased the vehicle to take out my Passat TDI SE. When I was searching for vehicles to upgrade from, most did not have the features or amenities to match my 2015 Passat without spending 50,000 or more. I purchased a 2022 model year of the Q5 and it tops the charts with amenities and being an actual fun vehicle to drive. After taxes and fees the vehicle cost me just over 35,000. The Q5 premium plus 45 TFSI, features, a nice infotainment set up, three drive modes, heated seats and wheel, with a 3 zone climate control, leather seats, and decent trunk space. The tight handling and connection from the peddle to road make you feel like you can actually drive the vehicle. Only downside are the backseat is a little small, the engine does lack some power compared to a SQ5, and the Audi connect set up is also just so so. Overall I love this vehicle. This was my first Audi purchase and I couldn't be happier. I am looking forward to throwing miles on this vehicle before jumping into an SQ5 next.

This car is amazing, was able to pick up a low mileage 2022 Prestige in 2024 for an amazing price! Original MSRP was 60K+ which seems overpriced... but the tech, the comfort, the ride, and the 0-60 in 5.5 seconds is a wonderful thing! Fully recommend this car.... NO REGRETS!

Is the 2022 Audi Q5 a good car?
Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2022 Audi Q5 stands out as a premium midsize SUV that emphasizes comfort, quality, and standard equipment more than flash. Its appeal is rooted in a luxurious interior, an upmarket image, a roomy cabin, and a smooth ride, so it fits well if you want a polished everyday SUV rather than something stripped down. With 44.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market also gives you a decent chance to find attractive pricing.
Is the 2022 Audi Q5 reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2022 Audi Q5 is presented as a refined, well-equipped SUV with a comfortable ride and a premium-feeling cabin, which are traits many used buyers value over time. For long-term ownership, the main risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been cared for properly, since premium SUVs can become costly if maintenance has been deferred.
What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Audi Q5?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still check the history report carefully and confirm the vehicle has no hidden accident or title issues. Put inspection priority on the cabin, electronics, and overall condition, since the Q5’s appeal depends heavily on its premium feel and standard equipment. Focus on signs of wear that could undermine the comfort and quality you expect from this model.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Audi Q5?
This looks like a buyer-friendly market, with plenty of inventory and meaningful price softness.
- Deal availability: 44.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 2,729 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 16.41% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 88.5% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $24,975, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2022 Audi Q5's resale value?
The current average of $24,975 sits slightly below last year's $29,877.
That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, the current pricing means there may be less room for appreciation, so condition and mileage will matter even more when it comes time to resell. If you keep the vehicle well maintained and present it cleanly, you’ll be in a better position to protect value.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2022 Audi Q5 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 44.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 16.41% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $21,682, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $24,975 average.
- It adds a plug-in hybrid option for buyers who want electrified driving.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $29,681, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $24,975 average.
- It offers a more attractive, tech-rich cabin with a calmer daily driving feel.
The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around pick if you want a well-equipped luxury SUV at a softened market price. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better value path; if you want to spend more for a newer-feeling alternative, the 2023 is worth a look.
