Used 2022 Acura TLX for Sale nearSaint Louis, MO

How much does the 2022 Acura TLX cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 779 listings available, which suggests a modest but workable amount of inventory for shoppers comparing condition and equipment.

Is the 2022 Acura TLX a good car?

Yes — with a 5/5 user rating and an expert rating of 7.5/10, the 2022 Acura TLX makes a strong case if you want a premium sport sedan with personality. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

The TLX stands out as one of the market’s best alternatives to a German compact luxury sedan, with strong road presence, careful attention to detail, and genuine performance capability. It also brings sharp handling, stylish design, and premium interior materials, which give it a more distinctive personality than many shoppers expect from Acura.

The main trade-offs are limited cargo space, a cramped back seat, and a touchpad interface that takes some getting used to. If you value driving enjoyment and a more upscale feel over maximum practicality, the TLX fits that use case well.

Only 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market still rewards shoppers who move quickly on the right example.

Is the 2022 Acura TLX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The TLX is described as a car that runs smooth, pulls hard, and has no trouble getting out of its own way. Acura’s powertrain tuning also helps it feel polished, with quick-shifting transmission behavior and a chassis that was developed with track capability in mind.

The regular TLX is softer sprung and still feels composed, while the Type S adds more performance polish without giving up comfort or falling apart on the road like some aggressive German rivals. Acura also includes all-seasons as standard, which helps broaden everyday usability.

If you plan to keep one long term, the biggest ownership risk is choosing a poorly maintained example with the wrong tire or trim setup for your needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Acura TLX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-trim car with more equipment. Focus on cabin condition, rear-seat space, and whether the interface and controls feel intuitive enough for your daily routine.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The TLX has a wide, long stance and a premium cabin even in lower trims, while upper trims add a more upscale lighting treatment and richer materials. The Type S brings exclusive styling details, four exhaust outlets, and more aggressive visual hardware, while the A-Spec adds much of the extra flair without going all the way to the Type S.
• Powertrain: The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine makes 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and Super Handling-All Wheel Drive is available for better cornering precision and traction.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch comes standard and includes lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, auto high beams, traffic-sign recognition, and semi-automated highway steering on marked roads. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and parking sensors are included on the Technology Package and all higher trims.
• Infotainment: The TLX uses a widescreen display that is not a touchscreen, and the interface is described as simple and quick. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM, and quick voice recognition are standard, while the head-up display is available only with the Advance Package.
• Fuel efficiency: The regular TLX with SH-AWD is rated at 21/29/24 mpg, and the FWD version reaches as high as 21/31/25 mpg. The Type S returns 19 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined on summer tires, with a 1-mpg highway gain on all-seasons.

Which 2022 Acura TLX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Acura TLX is offered in 4 trim levels: Technology Package, A-Spec, Advance Package, Type S.

Here's the short version:

• Technology Package: This is the trim that adds meaningful everyday value because it brings blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and parking sensors, along with the broader tech and convenience upgrades that make the TLX easier to live with.
• A-Spec: This is the best choice if you want the TLX’s sharper styling and a more expressive look without jumping to the most expensive performance model.
• Advance Package: This is the comfort-and-convenience pick, with the head-up display, 360-degree cameras, heated rear seats, and heated steering wheel that make the cabin feel more premium.
• Type S: This is the enthusiast choice, with the strongest performance hardware, the most aggressive styling, and the most track-ready character.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, but the extra driver-assistance and parking features are reserved for the Technology Package and above.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Acura TLX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently but should still act quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 779 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 78.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,486, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Acura TLX's resale value?

The current average of $32,302 sits slightly above last year's $32,010.

That small increase suggests the TLX has held its value fairly well rather than swinging sharply up or down. For a future seller, that kind of stability is useful because it points to a market that is still willing to pay for the car’s mix of style, performance, and premium feel.

The year-over-year change is modest, which usually means you’re less exposed to sudden depreciation shocks than you would be in a weaker segment. If the car stays clean, well maintained, and properly equipped, it should remain appealing to buyers who want a sport sedan with a more distinctive personality.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Acura TLX safe?

The 2022 Acura TLX earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and a five-star overall score from NHTSA, with four stars in the frontal passenger-side test and five stars in most other crash tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch comes standard and includes lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, auto high beams, traffic-sign recognition, and semi-automated steering on marked highways. Knee airbags for both driver and passenger are standard, along with a passenger airbag designed to better reduce head injuries.

Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and parking sensors are included on the Technology Package and all higher trims. The main caveat is that some of the more helpful convenience and awareness features are not standard on every trim.

Should I buy a 2022 Acura TLX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the TLX’s road presence, careful detailing, and genuine performance capability without changes for the year.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $27,131, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $32,302 average.
• It offers a new platform and multiple powertrain choices.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $35,047, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $32,302 average.
• It emphasizes style, comfort, and a fun-to-drive character.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the right pick if you want the TLX’s updated design, strong safety, and balanced performance without paying more for a newer model year. If price matters most, the 2021 is the better value path; if you want to spend more for a later-year example, the 2023 is the alternative to compare.
