Used 2021 Acura TLX for Sale nearSaint Louis, MO

How much does the 2021 Acura TLX cost?

Prices have softened 3.97% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 657 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2021 Acura TLX a good car?

Generally — the 2021 Acura TLX earns a 4/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Form and function.

It aims to feel more premium than a basic commuter sedan, with a stylish exterior, a richer cabin, and a distinct identity on its own platform. That said, the TLX is also a sport sedan that asks you to accept some compromises, especially if you need rear-seat space or easy-to-use tech.

Cons: The back seat is cramped, the technology is unintuitive, and cargo space is limited.

For you, that means the TLX makes the most sense if you value design, cabin quality, and a more engaging personality over maximum practicality. 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2021 Acura TLX reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The TLX is positioned as a premium sedan with a strong emphasis on quality and craftsmanship, and Acura backs it with a four-year/50,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty plus a six-year/70,000-mile powertrain warranty. Its turbocharged 2.0-liter engine and 10-speed automatic are presented as a modern, performance-focused setup, and the car’s solid structure and broad safety equipment add confidence for daily use.

Acura also includes a four-year/50,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty, which helps reduce early ownership risk. For used buyers, the main long-term concern is making sure the car has been maintained properly, especially if you’re shopping a higher-mileage example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Acura TLX?

At 69.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the body, interior, and electronics so you can judge whether the car still feels tight, clean, and well cared for. Because the TLX leans premium, condition matters a lot when you’re comparing similar-priced listings.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base model starts the lineup, while the Tech package adds navigation and more convenience-focused equipment; higher trims bring more luxury and performance content. The base trim leaves out some of the richer features you may want if you care about a more upscale daily drive.
• Powertrain: The TLX uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder with 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard, and SH-AWD is available if you want extra traction and a more performance-oriented setup.
• Safety package: Every TLX comes with AcuraWatch, including adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist. It also adds pedestrian sensing, autonomous emergency braking, traffic-sign recognition, traffic jam assist, and a driver attention monitor.
• Infotainment: The cabin centers on a 10.2-inch landscape screen, and the system includes Bluetooth hands-free and audio streaming, Siri Eyes Free, SMS text messaging, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Navigation is standard above the base trim level.
• Fuel efficiency: FWD models are rated at 22 mpg city, 31 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined, while AWD models are rated at 21 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined.

Which 2021 Acura TLX trim should I buy?

The 2021 Acura TLX is offered in 4 trim levels: Base, Tech, A-Spec, Advance.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core TLX experience with the standard turbocharged powertrain, AcuraWatch safety suite, and the car’s stylish design. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable skipping some convenience and luxury upgrades.
• Tech: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds navigation and a more complete tech setup without jumping too far up the price ladder. If you want the TLX to feel more premium in daily use, this is the trim to target first.
• A-Spec: Choose this if you want a more expressive look and a stronger enthusiast vibe. It builds on the TLX’s sporty character and is a better fit if style and a more performance-flavored presentation matter to you.
• Advance: This is the most comfort- and luxury-focused choice, with features like adaptive dampers and a head-up display. It suits you best if you want the most polished TLX experience and are willing to pay for it.

All TLX models come with AcuraWatch, so even the lower trims include the core driver-assistance suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Acura TLX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with some room to negotiate if you shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 657 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.97% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,371, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Acura TLX's resale value?

The current average of $27,131 sits slightly below last year's $28,252.

That softer pricing suggests the TLX has become a bit more accessible for used buyers, which can help support demand if you buy at the right price. If you later sell, a well-kept example should still appeal to shoppers who want a premium sport sedan with style and a strong feature set. The key is to avoid overpaying now, because resale value is strongest when your purchase price leaves room for normal depreciation.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Acura TLX safe?

The 2021 Acura TLX has not yet been tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), but Acura engineers have targeted five-star ratings and Top Safety Pick + ratings for this model.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Every TLX comes with AcuraWatch, which includes adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist. Standard safety equipment also includes pedestrian sensing and autonomous emergency braking, traffic-sign recognition, traffic jam assist, a driver attention monitor, a multi-angle rear-view camera system with dynamic guidelines, ABS, stability control, traction control, and a full complement of airbags.

Available safety features include rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, a surround-view camera system, and the head-up display. If you want the most complete safety and convenience setup, you’ll want to look beyond the base configuration.

Should I buy a 2021 Acura TLX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.97% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It brings a new platform, new styling, and multiple powertrain choices.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $22,327, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $27,131 average.
• It offers engaging driving manners and strong value.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $32,302, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $27,131 average.
• It adds a more refined, road-presence-focused feel with strong performance capability.

The bottom line: If you want the newest design and a more premium-feeling TLX, the 2021 is the right starting point. If price matters most, the 2020 is the better value play; if you want to spend more for a slightly more polished-feeling alternative, the 2022 is worth a look.
