CarGurus Analysis: 2022 Acura RDX
overall

Summary
With 163 currently listed for sale near Baltimore, MD and an average price of $32,049.00, 42.9% of 2022 Acura RDXs for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2022 Acura RDX 4.6 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.83 / 10.
100.0% of 2022 RDX models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2022 Acura RDX stands out as an entry-level luxury sport/utility vehicle that delivers on both parts of the SUV equation. It is the smaller of Acura’s two sport-utes, and it comes with a standard turbocharged four-cylinder engine, an available torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system, and five trim levels offered as packages. Acura also freshens the 2022 RDX with new styling, a quieter cabin, additional equipment, and refined ride and handling characteristics for some versions.
That combination makes the 2022 Acura RDX appealing to buyers who want a luxury SUV that feels well-rounded rather than flashy. Its strengths include great handling, plenty of cargo space, and excellent value for money. The tradeoffs are worth noting, though: the rear seat is uncomfortable, and the technology can be unintuitive. Owner feedback generally reinforces the RDX’s smooth drive, comfortable interior, performance, and storage capacity, while also echoing complaints about the non-touch screen interface and the lack of a heads-up display.

I love the vehicle. I will purchase another one. Great vehicle!

The Acura RDX is a great choice for a car. It has everything that I could ask for in a car. I loved the color choices, both in and out. The car rides smooth with 4 choices to drive in all weather conditions. This is my first car with Bluetooth which adds to my enjoyable ride. My short list for a new car included BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, and Toyota Highlander. I definitely made the right choice with my new Acura RDX .

It’s a fun little SUV, not too small & not too big. Zippy for a 4 cylinder! Lots of storage with seats down. Seats are comfortable. I wish the heads-up display option was on this vehicle. Overall happy with purchase so far!

| Change vs. Last Year | −5.75% |

There are 1,819 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare.
If you find a listing below $31,079.25, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2022 Acura RDX a good car?
Yes — the 2022 Acura RDX earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.
Owners consistently praise the smooth drive, comfortable interior, performance, and storage capacity. The review summary also points to strong overall quality and a well-rounded ownership experience.
The main trade-offs are the unintuitive technology and the non-touch screen interface, and the expert review also notes that the rear seat is uncomfortable. For you, that means the RDX makes the most sense if you value a polished driving feel and practical space more than the easiest infotainment setup or the roomiest back seat.
Good and great deals account for 35.5% of listings, so there is still meaningful market availability if you want to shop selectively.
Is the 2022 Acura RDX reliable?
Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner summary points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with praise for comfort, quality, and the kind of smooth driving character that tends to build confidence over time. It also highlights strong storage capacity and a generally satisfying daily-use experience.
The expert review reinforces that impression with notes about the RDX’s refined driving dynamics, quiet cabin, and solid build quality. It also mentions that the 2022 model adds refinement and quieter road manners, which can matter when you plan to keep a vehicle for years.
If you buy used, your biggest long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about living with the technology and rear-seat comfort every day.
What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Acura RDX?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still run a history report on any candidate, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the electronics, cabin controls, and suspension behavior, since those are the areas most likely to affect day-to-day satisfaction. Focus on overall condition, because the RDX’s value proposition depends heavily on how well it has been maintained and equipped.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The lineup includes the base model plus Technology, A-Spec, Advance, A-Spec Advance, and PMC Edition. The base version is the most stripped-down, while higher packages add more luxury and convenience equipment, so you should compare features carefully before paying up.
- Powertrain: Every version uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard on the base, Technology, and A-Spec packages, while SH-AWD is standard on Advance and A-Spec Advance and available on some lower packages.
- Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard and includes pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. Technology and higher add front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking.
- Infotainment: The system uses a 10.2-inch display with a touchpad controller, and the 2022 model adds wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Amazon Alexa Built-in, and a wireless charging pad. Starting with the Technology package, you also get navigation.
- Fuel efficiency: The expert review says the RDX did not get near its EPA fuel economy rating of 23 mpg in testing, and the evaluation loop returned 20.6 mpg.
Which 2022 Acura RDX trim should I buy?
The 2022 Acura RDX is offered in 5 trim levels: base model, Technology, A-Spec, Advance, and A-Spec Advance.
Here's the short version:
- base model: This is the entry point if you want the lowest-cost way into the RDX, and it still gives you the core turbocharged powertrain, AcuraWatch, wireless smartphone integration, and the standard 9-speaker audio setup. It makes sense if you care most about value and can live without the extra luxury and convenience features in the higher packages.
- Technology: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds navigation and a 12-speaker ELS Studio audio system while keeping the RDX’s core strengths intact. If you want a more complete luxury experience without jumping too far up the price ladder, this is the one to target.
- A-Spec: Choose this if you want a sportier look and a more expressive feel without moving all the way to the pricier upper packages. It sits above Technology and is aimed at buyers who care about style as much as equipment.
- Advance: This is the comfort-focused upgrade, and it adds the standard SH-AWD system along with the adaptive-damping suspension and the 10.5-inch head-up display. It suits you best if you want the most polished ride and the most upscale everyday experience.
- A-Spec Advance: This is the top-end choice if you want the most fully loaded RDX with the sportier appearance and the richer equipment mix. It combines the upper-level comfort and tech content with the more distinctive A-Spec presentation.
AcuraWatch is standard, but front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking start with the Technology package and higher.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market.
- Deal availability: 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,819 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.75% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 86.5% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $31,079.25, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2022 Acura RDX's resale value?
The current average of $31,537 sits slightly below last year's $33,460.
That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. If you keep the vehicle in strong condition and choose a well-equipped trim, you may be better positioned when it comes time to sell. The current price trend also suggests there is still room for value-conscious shoppers to enter without paying peak pricing.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2022 Acura RDX safe?
The 2022 Acura RDX earns a five-star overall crash-test rating from NHTSA, with four-star frontal-impact and rollover resistance ratings and five-star side-impact ratings.
It earns a 8/10 safety score from our experts.
AcuraWatch is standard and includes pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. The 2022 model also adds a rear seatbelt reminder system. Technology and higher trims add front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking.
One caveat is that Acura’s lane-keeping and lane-centering systems were not always smooth in testing, and the IIHS rating for this model year had not yet been published in the source material.
Should I buy a 2022 Acura RDX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.75% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- This year brings quieter cabin tuning, added equipment, and refined ride and handling.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $27,734, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $31,537 average.
- It emphasizes balance, comfort, and utility with a redesigned interior and infotainment approach.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $35,467, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $31,537 average.
- It leans into strong performance, comfort, and value while keeping the same basic appeal.
The bottom line: You should start with the 2022 if you want the best mix of updated refinement, strong owner satisfaction, and a softer used-market price. If your priority is saving money above all else, the 2021 is the better value play; if you want to spend more for a newer-feeling alternative, the 2023 is the next step up.
