Why it stands out
The 2021 Volkswagen Golf GTI stands out as a quintessential hot hatch, combining practicality with exhilarating performance. With its turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 228 horsepower, the GTI is renowned for its quick throttle response and superb agility on winding roads, making it a favorite among driving enthusiasts. The refined interior boasts sporty accents, including a race-inspired flat-bottomed steering wheel and heated sport seats, providing a blend of comfort and style. Additionally, the GTI has received high marks for safety, achieving a five-star overall rating from the NHTSA, along with advanced safety features like forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking. The GTI line peaked at the mk7.5 model in terms of overall value. It’s got the best silhouette and cabin design in my opinion. And there’s plenty of technology to pair with the exceptional driving experience we’ve come to expect from the iconic 7-speed DSG 4 cylinder engine. If you’re like me, who isn’t too fond of the redesign of the mk8 both exterior and interior alike…I think the mk7 is the perfect option.
