Why it stands out
The 2021 Toyota Highlander stands out in the competitive three-row SUV market, combining comfort with advanced safety features and a spacious interior. Known for its reliability, the Highlander is equipped with a robust 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 295 horsepower, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, ensuring a smooth driving experience. Toyota has further enhanced the Highlander for this model year by introducing additional standard safety technologies, including the Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ suite, which encompasses adaptive cruise control and emergency braking with pedestrian detection. This commitment to safety, alongside a well-appointed interior that features high-quality materials and user-friendly technology—like the optional large touchscreen—makes the Highlander appealing to families. While some may find its styling uninspired and the base engine performance underwhelming, the overall ride quality, spaciousness, and practicality keep it as a top choice for family-oriented buyers.

I loved my Highlander. I give my 2021 Toyota Highlander a 100 out of 10 on its safety. My car was a limited and it had most bells and whistles which I loved but what I loved most was that we all walked away from a collision where we were traveling 40 miles an hour and thanks to the safety design , we’re here.
