Why it stands out
The 2021 Subaru WRX carves a distinct niche in the automotive landscape by merging practical sedan features with exhilarating sports car performance. For those seeking a compact sedan that offers spirited driving, the WRX stands out thanks to its turbocharged 2.0-liter boxer engine, generating 268 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, which allows for impressive acceleration. Proving its performance reliability, the WRX includes standard all-wheel drive, ensuring optimal traction in various driving conditions. However, potential buyers should remain aware of some limitations, most notably its outdated technology and cramped back seats compared to competitors like the Honda Civic Si and Volkswagen GTI, which deliver a more comfortable interior experience. The WRX strikes a balance between spirited engagement and respectable everyday usability, making it a compelling choice for driving enthusiasts who prioritize fun on the road.

Great car all around. Clutch is stiff and the bite point is high, so it was an adjustment coming from something that was the opposite. Very quick, very little lag in the turbo. Feels faster than it is which makes it fun. Cobb intake was already installed at purchase (low miles though) had to tune to account for it but made the car feel smoother and more responsive. Likely will be upgrading further, but not pushing too far to failure.

I have the Limited. It has most everything I needed. Would like to have had power Front passenger seat. I would have been happy with the Base model which costs a lot less - however, none were available. Compared it to Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, and Hyundai Veloster. This car has what I wanted most; an manual transmission.
