Why it stands out
The 2021 Subaru WRX distinguishes itself from competitors with its unique combination of performance and practicality. While it offers sharp cornering and brisk acceleration, it remains a sensible choice for those needing four doors. This model isn’t just an enhanced Subaru Impreza; its turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer engine makes it a thrilling drive, appealing particularly to enthusiasts looking for an affordable sports sedan. Despite a less refined interior compared to rivals like the Volkswagen GTI or Honda Civic Si, the WRX caters to driving engagement with features like standard AWD. However, prospective buyers should weigh its stiffer ride and outdated technology against its performance benefits. This balance of excitement and practicality is bolstered by an expert rating of 7.17/10, showcasing its overall appeal in the compact performance category.

Great car all around. Clutch is stiff and the bite point is high, so it was an adjustment coming from something that was the opposite. Very quick, very little lag in the turbo. Feels faster than it is which makes it fun. Cobb intake was already installed at purchase (low miles though) had to tune to account for it but made the car feel smoother and more responsive. Likely will be upgrading further, but not pushing too far to failure.

I have the Limited. It has most everything I needed. Would like to have had power Front passenger seat. I would have been happy with the Base model which costs a lot less - however, none were available. Compared it to Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, and Hyundai Veloster. This car has what I wanted most; an manual transmission.
