Should I buy a 2021 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.50% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.69/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $38,278, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $40,304 average.
• It emphasizes luxury, technology, and capability in a refined heavy-duty package.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-year market position and a truck that still feels modern and well liked by owners, the 2021 is the better primary choice. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2020 is the smarter secondary path because it delivers a similar upscale heavy-duty experience at a lower price.
