There are 3,764 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of trucks to compare.

Is the 2021 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — 4.7/5 is a strong user rating, and it lines up with the truck’s appeal for buyers who want serious capability with a more upscale, tech-forward feel. Owners commonly praise its performance, safety features, and value for money, and many also like the diesel’s power and fuel efficiency. The 2021 model’s use-case strength is clear if you want a heavy-duty pickup that feels more refined and family-friendly than a typical work truck. With 31.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck people feel good about keeping, especially because it comes across as dependable for hard use and long-term ownership. Praise for performance and value suggests you can count on it to do the job without feeling like a compromise. For used buyers, that usually means lower ownership anxiety if the truck has been maintained well and checked carefully before purchase.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 RAM 2500?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any truck you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on signs of heavy towing, suspension wear, and overall condition. Because this model is often bought for demanding work, you’ll want to pay close attention to how the truck was used and whether it shows the wear that comes with that kind of life.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 RAM 2500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,764 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.79% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 77.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $39,573, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $39,573 sits slightly below last year's $44,361.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also temper near-term resale upside. If you plan to sell later, the truck’s value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well it has been maintained. Strong demand for capable heavy-duty trucks can help support resale, especially when the truck presents well and has a clean history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.79% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $38,691, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $39,573 average.
• It emphasizes luxury, technology, and capability in a refined heavy-duty package.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced shopping opportunity, the 2021 is the stronger primary pick because it combines a solid owner rating, good deal availability, and a softer price trend. If your priority is saving a bit more upfront, the 2020 is the better secondary path.
