Used 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT for Sale near California

How much does the 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT cost?

Prices have softened 1.03% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 264 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT earns a 5/5 user rating and a 9/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Performance and Safety.

It stands out as a four-passenger, four-door supercar that blends high performance with luxury and surprising practicality. That makes it a strong fit if you want a car that feels exciting and capable without giving up everyday usability.

The main trade-offs are that all-wheel drive is not available, the ride quality is poor, and a manual transmission is not offered. Even so, the car’s fun-to-drive character and strong handling make those compromises easier to accept if performance is your priority.

With 25.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The AMG GT is presented as a car that combines performance, luxury, and practicality in one package, which can make it appealing for daily use as well as spirited driving. Its expert evaluation also emphasizes that it is easy to drive at everyday speeds and does not punish occupants the way some high-performance cars do.

The performance notes point to a well-developed chassis and powertrain setup, including strong acceleration, braking, ride, and handling qualities. The cost-effectiveness commentary also suggests that the car delivers a lot of capability and utility for what it is.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a high-performance luxury car can be expensive to keep in top condition, so maintenance history matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because even a strong accident-free share does not guarantee the individual car you’re considering has a clean past. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a performance car where brakes, tires, suspension, and electronics can be costly to refresh.

Focus on condition details that matter most on a high-end used car: signs of hard driving, uneven wear, and any evidence of deferred maintenance. If the car has optional equipment, make sure it all works as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GT 43, GT 53, GT 63, and GT 63 S each bring substantial increases in power and performance, and the base version is the least expensive way in. The GT 43 and GT 53 are the more sensible choices if you want the car’s style and capability without paying for the most extreme output.
• Powertrain: The lineup ranges from the GT 43 to the GT 63 S, with the top version using a hand-built twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 making 630 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. The car uses a nine-speed multi-clutch automatic transmission, and all versions are AWD.
• Safety package: A Driver Assistance Package is available and adds no fewer than 14 driver-assist features. Standout functions include Active Emergency Stop Assist, extended re-start in stop-and-go traffic, Active Lane Change Assist, and Congestion Emergency Braking.
• Infotainment: The cabin uses two 12.3-inch display screens under one piece of glass, with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, navigation, Mercedes Me connected services, near-field communications, and a wireless charging pad. The system also supports natural voice recognition.
• Fuel efficiency: The available information emphasizes performance rather than fuel economy figures.

Which 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT trim should I buy?

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT is offered in 4 trim levels: GT 43, GT 53, GT 63, GT 63 S.

Here's the short version:

• GT 43: This is the entry point to the lineup and the best-value choice if you want the AMG GT’s style, luxury, and practicality without chasing maximum output. It still gives you the core four-door supercar experience, and it makes the most sense for buyers who care about the car’s overall character more than outright speed.
• GT 53: This is the smart middle ground if you want more performance than the GT 43 but do not need the full force of the top trims. It should appeal to you if you want a stronger balance of excitement and everyday usability.
• GT 63: This trim is for you if you want a serious jump in performance and are willing to pay for it. It suits buyers who want the AMG GT to feel more like a full-bore performance machine.
• GT 63 S: This is the most extreme version, with the strongest performance credentials and the most bragging rights. It makes sense if you want the most powerful and most track-capable version of the lineup.

A Driver Assistance Package is available, and it adds a substantial set of safety and convenience features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 25.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 264 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.03% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $69,967, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT's resale value?

The current average of $75,804 sits slightly below last year's $76,594.

That modest decline suggests the market has softened a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may slightly temper near-term resale expectations. If you plan to sell later, the current pricing trend implies you should be realistic about holding value rather than expecting appreciation.

The good news is that the car’s strong desirability and premium positioning can help support demand when it’s time to move on. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment should remain easier to market than ordinary luxury sedans.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT safe?

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

It offers an available Driver Assistance Package that adds no fewer than 14 driver-assist features. Highlights include adaptive cruise control, lane-centering assistance, Active Emergency Stop Assist, Active Lane Change Assist, extended re-start in stop-and-go traffic, and Congestion Emergency Braking.

That package is optional, so you should confirm whether a used example has it before you buy. If safety tech matters to you, this is one of the most important equipment checks on the car.

Should I buy a 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 25.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.03% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines four-door practicality with supercar-level performance and luxury.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $82,559, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $75,804 average.
• The 2020 is a raw, razor-sharp exotic built for top-tier sports-car competition.

The bottom line: If you want the better value and a broader set of listings, the 2021 is the stronger starting point. If your priority is a more intense, track-focused personality and you are willing to pay more, the 2020 may still appeal, but most used buyers should start with the 2021 and compare condition, equipment, and price carefully.
