Used 2021 Mazda CX-30 for Sale nearNewark, NJ

How much does the 2021 Mazda CX-30 cost?

Prices have softened 5.30% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 925 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Mazda CX-30 a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Mazda CX-30 earns a 4.77/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its sporty design, interior quality, and driving dynamics, and many also like the luxury feel at an affordable price. The main trade-offs are tighter back-seat legroom and a desire for more USB ports. In use, that makes it a strong fit if you want a stylish small crossover that feels more upscale than many rivals without moving into luxury-brand pricing. Good and great deals account for 37.5% of listings, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2021 Mazda CX-30 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.77/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable and satisfying over time, with praise centered on its quality, driving feel, and upscale character. The expert review also emphasizes that Mazda has tuned the CX-30 for confidence, capability, style, and satisfaction rather than raw aggression, which supports the impression of a well-sorted daily driver. Mazda’s ownership package includes three free years of Mazda Connected Services, plus remote engine starting and a vehicle finder function, which adds some convenience early in ownership.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the specific example was maintained well and still feels fresh inside.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Mazda CX-30?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate, because accident-free status is only a starting point. Prioritize a close inspection of the cabin, electronics, and visibility-related wear, since the CX-30’s appeal depends heavily on its upscale feel and everyday usability. It’s also worth checking that the vehicle’s equipment matches the trim level you expect, especially if you want more convenience or safety tech.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard specification uses black or Griege leatherette upholstery, while Premium and Premium Plus trim add black or white leather. Premium Plus also brings front and rear parking sensors, a rear automatic braking system, a surround-view camera system, and Traffic Jam Assist, so base trims miss some of the most helpful parking and low-speed convenience features.
• Powertrain: The turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission and standard i-Activ all-wheel drive. Output ranges from 227 to 250 horsepower depending on fuel octane, and the setup emphasizes effortless acceleration and strong low-speed torque rather than hardcore performance.
• Safety package: Every CX-30 Turbo includes the i-ActiveSense advanced driver-assistance suite, and it works in a way that is meant to help rather than annoy. Premium trim adds an adaptive front lighting system, while Premium Plus adds the most advanced parking and traffic-assist features.
• Infotainment: The cabin centers on an 8.8-inch infotainment display that is not a touchscreen. Standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and Mazda Connected Services adds remote engine start and a vehicle finder function. Premium and Premium Plus also add SiriusXM satellite radio, navigation, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The CX-30 Turbo is rated at 25 mpg in combined driving, and the review notes an observed average of 24.1 mpg.

Which 2021 Mazda CX-30 trim should I buy?

The 2021 Mazda CX-30 is offered in 3 trim levels: standard specification, Premium, Premium Plus.

Here's the short version:

• standard specification: This is the value play if you want the CX-30’s upscale design, standard all-wheel drive, and core safety tech without paying for extras. It still gives you the premium look and feel that define the model, but you give up the richer cabin materials and convenience upgrades found higher up.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds an adaptive front lighting system, plus the richer audio and navigation equipment that make the CX-30 feel more luxury-like. If you want the strongest balance of price and features, this is the trim to focus on.
• Premium Plus: Choose this if you want the most complete version of the CX-30 Turbo, especially the parking aids, surround-view camera, rear automatic braking, and Traffic Jam Assist. It suits you best if you want maximum convenience and the most advanced low-speed driver assistance.

Every CX-30 Turbo includes the i-ActiveSense driver-assistance suite, and Premium Plus adds the most comprehensive safety and parking equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Mazda CX-30?

• Deal availability: 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 925 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.30% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 75.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,028, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Mazda CX-30's resale value?

The current average of $19,270 sits slightly below last year's $20,349.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already moved through some of its depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. For a seller, the current market indicates that condition, mileage, and equipment will matter a lot when it comes time to list the vehicle. Well-kept examples with desirable trim content should be easier to position than higher-mileage or lightly equipped ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.77/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Mazda CX-30 safe?

The Mazda CX-30 earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and five-star ratings in every NHTSA assessment except rollover resistance, where it receives a four-star rating.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Every CX-30 Turbo includes the i-ActiveSense advanced driver-assistance suite, and Mazda says the systems are effective without being irritating. Standard equipment includes the usual active safety features, while Premium trim adds an adaptive front lighting system. Premium Plus adds front and rear parking sensors, rear automatic braking, a surround-view camera system, and Traffic Jam Assist. One caveat is that there is no high-speed lane-centering assistance function.

Should I buy a 2021 Mazda CX-30 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.30% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.77/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It blends premium design, strong safety, and turbocharged performance in a mainstream-priced package.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $18,742, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $19,270 average.
• It adds ground clearance and easier entry and exit over the Mazda3-based formula.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $22,126, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $19,270 average.
• It brings a more upscale cabin and a more spacious feel than the CX-3 it replaces.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price, safety, and upscale character, the 2021 is the strongest all-around choice. If you’re focused mainly on saving money, the 2020 is the better value path, while the 2022 makes sense if you want to spend more for a newer-feeling cabin and can stretch your budget.
