Prices have softened 6.16% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 419 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used examples to compare.

Is the 2021 Kia Stinger a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Kia Stinger earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

The overview frames it as a low-slung, four-door sports car that blends performance and luxury, and the expert review reinforces that it feels like an out-of-left-field enthusiast car rather than a conventional Kia product. It is also positioned as a BMW 3 Series rival for thousands less, which supports its value-first appeal.

The main trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard, and the higher-level equipment is concentrated on upper trims. For you, that means the Stinger makes the most sense if you want a sporty, upscale used car and are willing to shop carefully for the right equipment level.

31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2021 Kia Stinger reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview and expert review both point to a car that delivers strong performance, premium features, and standout value. The expert review also describes it as a car people may remain emotionally invested in, which fits a model that feels distinctive and special in its segment.

The four-cylinder version is described as lively and full of pep, while the V6 is presented as a true performance setup with strong acceleration and a memorable exhaust note. Kia’s 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty also adds a useful ownership cushion.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well and equipped the way you want, since the best ownership experience depends heavily on trim and condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Kia Stinger?

At 66.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can confirm the car’s condition and equipment. Pay close attention to trim level, because the Stinger’s safety and convenience features vary meaningfully by version.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Stinger is offered as GT-Line, GT, GT1, and GT2. The base GT-Line includes a 7-inch touchscreen, wireless device charging, dual-zone climate control, a 12-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a leather-wrapped flat-bottom sport steering wheel. The GT1 adds LED accent lighting, an eight-way power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, and the more powerful V6 powertrain. The GT2 adds Nappa leather upholstery, 16-way power-adjustable sport seats with Air Cell lumbar support, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, sport gauges, a head-up display, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
• Powertrain: The standard engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 255 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The GT uses a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 with 365 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque. Both engines use an eight-speed automatic, and rear-wheel drive is standard with all-wheel drive available.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard, but automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, forward-collision warning, and automatic high beams require moving up from the GT-Line and GT to higher-level GT1 and GT2 models.
• Infotainment: The standard screen is 7 inches, while upgraded trims get an 8-inch screen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, along with Bluetooth connectivity, multiple USB ports, and wireless device charging. The GT2 adds a 15-speaker Harman Kardon premium stereo and a head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The four-cylinder RWD model returns 22 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined. The AWD version is rated at 21 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined. The V6 model returns 17 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined.

Which 2021 Kia Stinger trim should I buy?

The 2021 Kia Stinger is offered in 4 trim levels: GT-Line, GT, GT1, GT2.

Here's the short version:

• GT-Line: This is the entry point and the best-value choice if you want the Stinger’s core look, standard 7-inch screen, wireless charging, heated front seats, leather upholstery, and strong everyday comfort without paying for the upper-trim extras.
• GT: This trim is the step-up for buyers who want the more powerful V6 and the added performance hardware, including a variable exhaust system, launch control, Brembo performance brakes, and a limited-slip differential.
• GT1: This is the trim that adds more of the comfort and convenience upgrades while keeping the V6 powertrain, making it a strong middle ground if you want more luxury without going all the way to the top.
• GT2: This is the most fully equipped version, adding Nappa leather, upgraded sport seats, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, sport gauges, a head-up display, and the premium audio system.

Most driver assistance features are only standard on the higher-level GT1 and GT2 models, so those trims are the safer bet if you want more standard safety equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Kia Stinger?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 419 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.16% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 66.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,190, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Kia Stinger's resale value?

The current average of $24,750 sits slightly below last year's $26,375.

That decline suggests the market has softened, which can help you buy at a better entry price today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, trim, and how well the car is equipped.

Because the Stinger is positioned as a distinctive performance-luxury car, well-kept examples should continue to attract shoppers who want something different from a mainstream sedan. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Kia Stinger safe?

The 2021 Kia Stinger earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard, but automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, forward-collision warning, and automatic high beams require moving up from the GT-Line and GT to higher-level GT1 and GT2 models.

That means you should pay close attention to trim if safety tech matters to you. The main caveat is that the most important driver-assistance features are not standard across the lineup.

Should I buy a 2021 Kia Stinger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.16% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 model stands out as a value-focused performance-luxury car with multiple powertrain options and a fun-to-drive character.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $28,148, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $24,750 average.
• It gets a mild refresh with more power, especially from the base engine.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2021 is the stronger buy because it combines a lower average price with solid deal availability. If you care more about the refreshed powertrain and updated features, the 2022 is worth the extra money, especially if you find a clean example with the equipment you want.
