Used 2021 Genesis G80 for Sale near Ohio

How much does the 2021 Genesis G80 cost?

Prices have softened 2.00% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 185 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Genesis G80 a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the expert rating is 8.17/10. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the G80 for its impressive luxury features, smooth ride, and value for money compared with competitors like Mercedes and BMW. The reviews also highlight its sophisticated design and spaciousness, including heated second-row seats.

The trade-offs are straightforward: the base engine is underwhelming, and the car’s pricing can climb quickly once you add higher trims and options. For you, that means the G80 makes the most sense if you want a midsize luxury sedan with premium feel and strong equipment rather than the sharpest performance bargain.

The model’s role as a redesigned, foundational luxury sedan fits buyers who want a premium alternative to more established nameplates, and 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2021 Genesis G80 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise centered on the car’s overall quality and value. The expert review also emphasizes Genesis’s generous ownership benefits, including free maintenance, free service valet with a loaner vehicle, and three years of free connected services.

That combination of owner confidence and strong warranty coverage helps reduce long-term ownership risk for used buyers, especially if you choose a well-kept example with complete service records.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Genesis G80?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully, because accident-free status does not replace a full inspection. Prioritize paint, wheel, and interior condition, since luxury cars can hide expensive cosmetic wear. It also makes sense to confirm that the technology and driver-assistance features work as expected, especially on higher-spec examples.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Prestige Package adds premium Nappa leather, a microfiber suede headliner, open-pore wood trim, a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation panel, and a 12-inch head-up display. It also adds more advanced safety and parking tech, so base versions are the ones most likely to feel light on luxury features.
• Powertrain: You get a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, or a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 with 375 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque. The V6 is the stronger choice if you want more effortless acceleration.
• Safety package: Every G80 includes a long list of driver-assist features, including collision avoidance tech, smart adaptive cruise control with machine learning, Safe Exit System, Leading Vehicle Departure Alert, Highway Driving Assist II, 10 airbags, and a center-mounted airbag. Prestige Package models add Forward Attention Warning, Blind Spot View Monitor, surround-view camera capability, and Remote Smart Parking Assist.
• Infotainment: Every G80 has a 14.5-inch widescreen infotainment system with SiriusXM, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, and voice control. Wireless smartphone charging is available, and Prestige Package models add the larger digital gauge display and head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert review says the 3.5T AWD test vehicle should average 21 mpg in combined driving, and it returned 22.4 mpg on the test loop.

Which 2021 Genesis G80 trim should I buy?

The 2021 Genesis G80 is offered in 2 trim levels: 2.5T and 3.5T.

Here's the short version:

• 2.5T: This is the entry point if you want the G80’s design, cabin quality, and standard tech at the lowest price. It gives you the core luxury experience, but the base engine is the one most likely to leave you wanting more.
• 3.5T: This is the better-value choice if you care about performance and a more complete luxury feel. The twin-turbo V6 brings much stronger power, and the expert review makes clear that the car feels more convincing with this engine.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, while the Prestige Package adds several advanced driver-assistance and parking features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Genesis G80?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without waiting forever.

• Deal availability: 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 185 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.00% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 75.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,102, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Genesis G80's resale value?

The current average of $30,593 sits slightly below last year's $31,216.

That decline suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than on broad market appreciation. Well-kept examples with desirable features should hold up better than stripped or heavily worn ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Genesis G80 safe?

The 2021 Genesis G80 had not been crash-tested when this review was published.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Genesis equips every G80 with a long list of driver-assistance features, including collision avoidance tech, smart adaptive cruise control with machine learning, Safe Exit System, Leading Vehicle Departure Alert, Highway Driving Assist II, 10 airbags, and a center-mounted airbag. The Prestige Package adds Forward Attention Warning, Blind Spot View Monitor, surround-view camera capability, and Remote Smart Parking Assist.

One caveat is that the lane-change assistance in Highway Driving Assist II did not actively steer the car during testing, so you should treat it as an assist feature rather than a fully hands-off system.

Should I buy a 2021 Genesis G80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.00% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign brings a fresh look, strong tech, and a more premium identity for Genesis.

Consider the 2022 if:

• It adds a quieter, more polished luxury feel with updated tech and a broader powertrain lineup.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2021 is the smarter path because pricing has eased and owner satisfaction is strong. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer-feeling luxury sedan with a more refined cabin and updated execution, the 2022 is the better secondary path.
