How much does the 2021 GMC Yukon XL cost?

Prices have softened 14.54% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,551 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2021 GMC Yukon XL a good car?

Yes — the 2021 GMC Yukon XL earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its luxury feel, spacious interior, and comfort on long trips, and many also like how agile it feels for such a large SUV. The overview also highlights its appeal as a roomy, upscale three-row SUV with genuine passenger and cargo utility. With 36.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful number of attractive listings to consider.

Is the 2021 GMC Yukon XL reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback emphasizes that you can count on its comfort, spaciousness, and upscale feel, and it also points to a generally dependable ownership experience for buyers who want a large SUV for long trips and family use. The main caution for used buyers is that long-term ownership risk will depend heavily on maintenance history and how well the vehicle has been cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 GMC Yukon XL?

At 73.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on every candidate and pay close attention to any prior collision records, title issues, or repeated repairs. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on body condition, alignment, braking performance, and signs of wear that could matter more on a large SUV. Because this model is often bought for family duty and long trips, you’ll want to prioritize overall condition and maintenance consistency over cosmetic extras.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 GMC Yukon XL?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,551 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.54% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 73.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $39,649, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 GMC Yukon XL's resale value?

The current average of $39,649 sits slightly below last year's $46,396.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also mean future resale gains are more limited if prices stay soft. For a future seller, the key advantage is that this model still has broad appeal thanks to its size and comfort, which can help support demand when it’s time to list. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 GMC Yukon XL or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 73.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.54% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2021 if you want the newer-generation Yukon XL experience with strong owner satisfaction and a softer used-market price than last year. If your main goal is to minimize upfront cost, a nearby older year may be worth considering, but the 2021 is the better fit if you want the more modern package and can be selective about condition.
