Used 2021 GMC Yukon for Sale nearColorado Springs, CO

How much does the 2021 GMC Yukon cost?

Prices have softened 14.77% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,450 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare on price and condition.

Is the 2021 GMC Yukon a good car?

Yes — the 2021 GMC Yukon earns a 5/5 user rating, and our experts give it 7.67/10 overall. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the luxurious feel, spacious interior, and impressive tech features. The ride is described as extremely comfortable, and many owners say it stands out in its class. For your use case, that lines up well if you want a large SUV that prioritizes passenger space, cargo room, and a premium-feeling cabin.

The main trade-offs are poor fuel economy, uncomfortable seats, and interior materials that feel cheap. Even so, the market still shows 35.8% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2021 GMC Yukon reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with people highlighting the Yukon as a vehicle they feel good about living with over time. The expert drive notes also emphasize that the SUV’s technology and driving systems work in a polished, confidence-inspiring way, which supports the sense that it’s built to be counted on.

The redesign adds more space and technology, but used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history, tire wear, and how the cabin and electronics have aged.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 GMC Yukon?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any listing you’re considering, even if it looks clean on paper. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the suspension, brakes, infotainment functions, and seat condition. Because this is a large, feature-rich SUV, condition matters a lot more than mileage alone.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Yukon is offered in SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali trim levels. The SLE is the entry point, while the Denali adds the most upscale cabin treatment and more premium equipment. The AT4 is the off-road-oriented choice, with improved approach angle, skid plates, and all-terrain tires.
• Powertrain: A 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V8 is standard on all but the Denali, which gets a 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V8. A 3.0-liter turbo-diesel inline six-cylinder is also mentioned as an option for most trims. The 6.2-liter delivers strong acceleration, but fuel economy is not its strength.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, daytime pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking below 50 mph, automatic high-beam headlights, Teen Driver, a rear-seat reminder, and OnStar crash response and crisis assistance. Starting with SLT, you also get blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assistance. Denali adds rear pedestrian alert, adaptive cruise control, and enhanced automatic emergency braking.
• Infotainment: Every 2021 Yukon gets a 10.2-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Amazon Alexa integration, over-the-air updates, and access to connected services. Higher trims can add wireless charging, navigation, a 14-speaker Bose audio system, and rear-seat entertainment with dual 12.6-inch displays.
• Fuel efficiency: The 6.2-liter V8 with 4WD is EPA-rated at 14 mpg city, 19 highway, and 16 combined. The expert drive also recorded 14.4 mpg on one loop and 16.2 mpg on a shorter loop, reinforcing that efficiency is a weak point.

Which 2021 GMC Yukon trim should I buy?

The 2021 GMC Yukon is offered in 4 trim levels: SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali.

Here's the short version:

• SLE: This is the value-focused starting point if you want the redesigned Yukon’s space, standard 10.2-inch touchscreen, and core safety tech without paying for luxury extras.
• SLT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds important driver-assistance upgrades like blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assistance.
• AT4: Choose this if you want the more rugged setup, including improved approach angle, skid plates, and all-terrain tires.
• Denali: This is the luxury pick, with the 6.2-liter V8, more upscale interior materials, rear pedestrian alert, adaptive cruise control, and enhanced automatic emergency braking.

For safety-package value, SLT is the key step up because it unlocks several important driver-assistance features that are not standard on SLE.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 GMC Yukon?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully and enough price softness to create opportunities.

• Deal availability: 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,450 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.77% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 78.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $41,320, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 GMC Yukon's resale value?

The current average of $41,320 sits slightly below last year's $48,480.

That price decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. If you plan to sell later, the current softness means your near-term depreciation risk is still something to watch closely. On the other hand, strong demand for spacious, well-equipped full-size SUVs can help support values if your Yukon is clean, well maintained, and properly optioned.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 GMC Yukon safe?

The 2021 GMC Yukon earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning, daytime pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking below 50 mph, automatic high-beam headlights, Teen Driver, a rear-seat reminder, and OnStar crash response and crisis assistance. Starting with SLT, you also get blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assistance. Denali adds rear pedestrian alert, adaptive cruise control, and enhanced automatic emergency braking that works above 50 mph.

One caveat is that crash-test ratings were unavailable in the expert review text, so you should lean more heavily on the Yukon’s driver-assistance equipment and the condition of any used example you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2021 GMC Yukon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.77% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign brings more space, better ride quality, and a major technology upgrade.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $46,293, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $41,320 average.
• It adds a standard 12-inch driver information center and enhanced connectivity.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2021 is the smarter buy because it delivers the redesign benefits at a lower average price. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model-year update and slightly fresher tech, the 2022 is the cleaner alternative.
