Used 2021 Dodge Durango for Sale nearSan Bernardino, CA

How much does the 2021 Dodge Durango cost?

Prices have softened 10.55% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,681 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2021 Dodge Durango a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Dodge Durango earns a 4.7/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise the smooth ride, comfortable seating, and spacious interior. The updated technology and powerful engine options also come through as recurring positives, especially if you want an SUV that can handle family duties and towing. In context, this fits a model that is aimed at buyers who want everyday usability without giving up a strong performance image.

The trade-offs are clear: fuel efficiency is a common concern, and some drivers wanted features they expected in a modern SUV. Even so, the market still shows 34.4% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you room to shop carefully.

Is the 2021 Dodge Durango reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable-feeling SUV with a comfortable, trouble-free character for many owners, and the strong satisfaction score suggests people feel confident living with it over time. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Durango’s powertrains are smooth and that the SUV feels composed in everyday driving, which supports the impression of a vehicle you can count on.

The Durango’s age and its mixed reputation for efficiency mean you should still pay close attention to maintenance history and condition. For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is best managed by choosing a well-kept example and verifying service records.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Dodge Durango?

At 72.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks bodywork, suspension, brakes, and electronics. Focus on overall condition rather than just mileage, since accident history and maintenance quality can matter more than the odometer on a used SUV like this.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Durango becomes increasingly more premium and sophisticated as you move up the grades, and lower-level models use cloth upholstery while higher trims can add leather, suede, Nappa leather, or Laguna leather. The base setup is simpler, so you should compare cabin materials and equipment carefully if you want a more upscale feel.
• Powertrain: The Durango offers a 3.6-liter V6, 5.7-liter HEMI V8, 392 HEMI V8, and supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8. The V6 is the efficiency-minded choice, while the V8s deliver the stronger performance image this SUV is known for.
• Safety package: The standard safety setup is limited to a rearview camera, airbags, and electronic stability control. Depending on trim or package, you can add adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high beams, rear-cross traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, and forward-collision warning.
• Infotainment: Lower trims get an 8.4-inch touchscreen, while higher trims get a 10.1-inch screen. Only the larger display runs Uconnect 5, which adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, OTA updates, connected services, and other modern features.
• Fuel efficiency: Fuel economy is not a strong point, and the source notes that the Durango faces competition from more fuel-efficient rivals.

Which 2021 Dodge Durango trim should I buy?

The 2021 Dodge Durango is offered in 6 trim levels: SXT, GT, Citadel, R/T, SRT 392, SRT Hellcat.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Durango’s core V6 setup with the standard 8.4-inch touchscreen. It makes sense if you want the Durango’s style and space without paying for the higher-performance or luxury upgrades.
• GT: The GT keeps the V6 foundation but adds a more appealing equipment mix than the base trim, and it still gets the 8.4-inch touchscreen. It’s a sensible middle-ground choice if you want a better-equipped daily driver without jumping into V8 pricing.
• Citadel: The Citadel is the more premium-feeling V6 trim, and it can also be upgraded to the 5.7-liter V8. If you want a more upscale cabin and more flexibility, this is the trim to watch.
• R/T: The R/T is the best-value choice if you want the Durango’s performance personality, because it comes standard with the 5.7-liter V8 and adds SRT Performance Pages. It also brings the 10.1-inch touchscreen and Uconnect 5, making it a strong blend of power and tech.
• SRT 392: This trim steps up to the 392 HEMI V8 and adds a more serious performance focus. Choose it if you want a more intense driving experience and are willing to pay for it.
• SRT Hellcat: This is the top performance model, with the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 and the most extreme hardware in the lineup. It’s the one to buy if outright power is your priority.

Safety-wise, the Durango’s standard equipment is limited, so you should look closely at which driver-assistance features are included on the specific trim or package you’re considering.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Dodge Durango?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,681 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.55% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 72.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,113, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Dodge Durango's resale value?

The current average of $26,119 sits slightly below last year's $29,197.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may temper resale expectations if you plan to sell soon. If you buy at a competitive price now, you may have less downside exposure than someone who paid closer to last year’s average. Strong demand for the Durango’s performance-oriented character can still help support future interest.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Dodge Durango safe?

The 2021 Dodge Durango earns a five-star side crash-test rating and a four-star rollover rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety setup is limited to a rearview camera, airbags, and electronic stability control. Depending on trim or package, you can add adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high beams, rear-cross traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, and forward-collision warning.

A key caveat is that IIHS crash-test ratings were not yet available for this model year, and the Durango’s standard active-safety content is thinner than many rivals.

Should I buy a 2021 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 72.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.55% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 adds the new SRT Hellcat variant and the available Tow N Go Package.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $20,602, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $26,119 average.
• It blends three-row practicality with muscle-car styling cues.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version of this generation with the strongest performance highlights, the 2021 is the better pick. If your priority is saving money and you can live without the latest updates, the 2020 is the more budget-friendly path.
