Used 2021 Dodge Durango for Sale nearKalamazoo, MI

How much does the 2021 Dodge Durango cost?

Prices have softened 8.27% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,771 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Dodge Durango a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Dodge Durango earns a 4.74/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its smooth ride, comfortable seating, and spacious interior. The updated technology and powerful engine options also come through as recurring positives, especially if you want family utility with towing capability.

The trade-offs are clear: the third row is cramped, and the interior materials feel cheap. Even so, the Durango’s two-row or three-row versatility and performance-oriented character make it a strong fit if you want an SUV that feels more muscular than most family haulers.

Only 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the best examples may not sit long.

Is the 2021 Dodge Durango reliable?

Owners rate it 4.74/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as comfortable and capable, and the review summary points to a vehicle that many owners feel good about living with over time. The expert evaluation also emphasizes smooth power delivery and controlled acceleration, which supports the sense that the Durango is built to handle daily use without feeling strained.

The available maintenance value helps too, since the ownership experience is framed around strong capability and broad utility rather than constant compromise. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a well-equipped Durango can hide expensive wear if it has been used hard or poorly maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Dodge Durango?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the drivetrain, brakes, electronics, and any signs of hard use. Pay close attention to condition, since the cabin materials and third-row packaging are areas where wear and disappointment can show up quickly.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin gets more premium as you move up the lineup, with cloth on lower models and leather, suede, Nappa leather, and Laguna leather available higher up. Base trims also miss some of the richer appointments and packaging that make the Durango feel more upscale.
• Powertrain: You can choose from a 3.6-liter V6, 5.7-liter HEMI V8, 392 HEMI V8, or supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8. The V6 is the efficiency-minded starting point, while the V8s deliver the stronger performance this SUV is known for.
• Safety package: The Durango comes standard with a rearview camera, airbags, and electronic stability control. Depending on trim or package, you can add adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high beams, rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, and forward-collision warning.
• Infotainment: Lower trims get an 8.4-inch touchscreen, while higher trims get a 10.1-inch screen with Uconnect 5. The system adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, OTA updates, connected services, and TomTom navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: Some buyers note fuel-efficiency concerns, so factor that into your ownership budget if you plan to drive it daily.

Which 2021 Dodge Durango trim should I buy?

The 2021 Dodge Durango is offered in 6 trim levels: SXT, GT, Citadel, R/T, SRT 392, SRT Hellcat.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the entry point if you want the Durango’s core size, V6 power, and standard 8.4-inch touchscreen without paying for the more expensive performance and luxury upgrades.
• GT: This is a smart value pick if you want the same basic V6 setup but a more appealing equipment mix, plus access to the larger-screen infotainment experience on higher configurations.
• Citadel: Choose this if you want a more upscale Durango with available V6 or V8 power and a stronger emphasis on comfort and premium materials.
• R/T: This is the best-value performance trim for many shoppers because it pairs the 5.7-liter V8 with stronger capability and SRT Performance Pages.
• SRT 392: Pick this if you want serious performance with the 392 HEMI V8 and a more track-focused personality.
• SRT Hellcat: This is the halo model if you want the most extreme Durango, with the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 and the most aggressive equipment.

The safety package is limited on lower trims, so if advanced driver-assistance features matter to you, verify the exact equipment on the listing you’re considering.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Dodge Durango?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,771 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.27% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 75.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,927, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Dodge Durango's resale value?

The current average of $26,927 sits slightly below last year's $29,354.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than assuming the model will hold price on name recognition alone.

Well-kept examples with desirable trims and strong equipment should remain easier to move than stripped or heavily worn ones. The current pricing trend also gives you a clearer benchmark for setting a realistic asking price later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.74/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Dodge Durango safe?

The 2021 Dodge Durango earns a four-star rollover rating and a five-star side crash-test rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety setup is thin for the class, with a rearview camera, airbags, and electronic stability control included. Depending on trim or package, you can add adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high beams, rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, and forward-collision warning.

A key caveat is that IIHS crash-test ratings were not yet available for this model year, and the front crash-test results had not been released. That leaves you relying more on equipment verification and vehicle history when shopping used.

Should I buy a 2021 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.27% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.74/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 update brings the new Uconnect 5 infotainment system and the headline SRT Hellcat variant.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $21,016, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $26,927 average.
• It blends three-row practicality with muscle-car styling cues.

The bottom line: If you want the updated infotainment, stronger feature set, and the most compelling 2021-specific performance story, the 2021 is the better target. If your priority is saving money and you can live without the newer update, the 2020 is the more budget-friendly path.
