Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica 3.75 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8.67 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica stands out as a family-focused minivan that blends a styling and technology refresh with the practical strengths buyers expect. Chrysler revised its looks and tech for 2021, but the Pacifica still emphasizes abundant storage space and easy drivability, which helps explain its appeal as a daily driver for families. It also offers a traditional V6 engine or a hybrid powertrain, giving shoppers a choice between conventional and electrified setups.
Inside, the Pacifica’s well-designed storage space is a major part of its identity, and its spacious third row adds to its usefulness for larger households. The model also brings 97 standard safety features, along with impressive technology, and Chrysler added a new premium Pinnacle trim level for 2021. One limitation is that the plug-in hybrid cannot be ordered with all-wheel drive, which may matter to buyers who want both efficiency and extra traction.

Love all its user friendly features. Wanted a vehicle that was easy to transport dogs in and the fold down configuration of seats in the touring model was perfect for me. But it’s also a surprising pleasure to drive and park. Who knew I’d be a mini van fan ; )

Electronics are terrible. Hard to figure out and go out often. Back tailgate opens when driver door is closed sometimes. CarPlay is unreliable. Chrysler tried to go high tech and in Chrysler style has failed.

Vehicle as a whole is fine. But good luck finding a used one that wasn’t a rental or that had been smoked in. Add Chrysler’s already questionable reliability to a former rental car and you are asking for trouble.

How much does the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $20,711 |
| Year-Round Low | $20,711 |
| Year-Round High | $23,297 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $23,286 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −11.06% |
Prices have softened 11.06% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 2,192 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare.
Is the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica a good car?
The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica is a strong fit if you want a family-focused minivan that leans into practicality, tech, and comfort rather than flash alone. It earns 3.75/5 from users and 8.67/10 from our experts.
The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.
Chrysler’s refresh gives it updated styling and modern tech, while the cabin still centers on abundant storage space and easy drivability. That makes it especially appealing if you want a daily driver that can handle family duty without feeling cumbersome.
The main trade-off is that the plug-in hybrid cannot be ordered with all-wheel drive, so you have to choose between electrified efficiency and extra traction. Another consideration is that the Pacifica’s premium positioning can push pricing higher than some rivals, especially in upper trims.
With 34.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer if you shop carefully.
Is the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica reliable?
The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica is built around a familiar V6 or hybrid setup, and Chrysler’s own focus for this model year is on refinement, practicality, and added tech rather than a major mechanical overhaul. The expert notes point to a well-rounded family vehicle with strong everyday usability and a broad spread of standard safety equipment.
The V6 is paired with a nine-speed automatic, while the hybrid uses a dual-motor electrically variable transmission and a 16-kilowatt-hour battery. The hybrid is described as delivering more than 30 miles of electric range and more than 500 miles of total range, which gives you a useful efficiency cushion if you can charge regularly.
Chrysler also emphasizes sound deadening, fresh windows, seals, and insulation for the 2021 model year, which supports a more settled ownership experience. For used buyers, the biggest long-term risk is choosing the wrong powertrain for your needs, especially if you want AWD and hybrid efficiency at the same time.
What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Chrysler Pacifica?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still run a history report on any candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re shopping higher-mileage examples or a hybrid. Focus on overall condition, signs of heavy family use, and whether the features you want are actually present on the trim you’re considering.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The lineup ranges from the well-equipped Touring and Touring L to the more upscale Limited and Pinnacle, and the Pinnacle adds a more premium cabin feel along with additional safety equipment. Base-trim shoppers should pay close attention to feature gaps if they want the richer materials and convenience items found higher up the range.
- Powertrain: You can choose a traditional 3.6-liter V6 with 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, or a hybrid setup with a dual-motor electrically variable transmission and a 16-kilowatt-hour battery. The hybrid delivers more than 30 miles of electric range and more than 500 miles of total range.
- Safety package: Every Pacifica includes forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane-departure warning with lane-keep assist, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high beams, advanced brake assist, third-row lock out, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. The Pinnacle trim increases the total number of safety features to 100.
- Infotainment: Uconnect 5 is standard, along with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Hands-free sliding doors are offered on mid-grade and higher models, and the Pinnacle adds FamCam with rear-facing child-seat view, split-view display, and zoom-to-seat functionality.
- Fuel efficiency: The traditional V6 is rated at 19 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 22 mpg combined. With AWD, those figures drop to 17 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined. The hybrid is rated at 82 MPGe and 30 mpg combined.
Which 2021 Chrysler Pacifica trim should I buy?
The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica is offered in 4 trim levels: Touring, Touring L, Limited, and Pinnacle.
Here's the short version:
- Touring: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the Pacifica’s core family-friendly strengths, including the V6 powertrain and standard safety tech. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable keeping the equipment list simpler.
- Touring L: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it builds on the Touring with more comfort and convenience while staying below the luxury-oriented upper trims. If you want a better balance of features and price, this is the trim to focus on first.
- Limited: This trim moves you into a more upscale experience and is a good fit if you want a richer-feeling cabin and are willing to pay more for it. It suits buyers who want the Pacifica to feel closer to a premium family hauler.
- Pinnacle: This is the top-tier choice if you want the most luxurious Pacifica, with the most premium interior presentation and the most safety features. It’s the right pick if you value comfort, materials, and family-focused tech over value pricing.
The safety package is standard across the lineup, but the Pinnacle trim adds more features overall.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Chrysler Pacifica?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing movement to reward careful shopping.
- Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 2,192 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.06% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 76.7% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $20,711, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica's resale value?
The current average of $20,711 sits slightly below last year's $23,286.
That decline suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face more price pressure than they would have a year ago. If you buy at the right number now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s average. For resale, condition and trim will matter a lot, especially on higher-priced versions where buyers expect more equipment and cleaner history.
Is the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica safe?
The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
Every Pacifica comes with a long list of standard safety tech, including forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane-departure warning with lane-keep assist, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high beams, advanced brake assist, third-row lock out, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. Chrysler says the Pacifica includes 97 safety features as standard, and the Pinnacle trim raises that total to 100.
One caveat is that the model had not yet been rated by IIHS at the time of publication, so you should lean more heavily on the NHTSA result and the standard equipment list when comparing used examples.
Should I buy a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2021 if:
- 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.06% compared with last year.
- The 2021 refresh gives you updated styling, a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5, and a strong family-first mix of storage space and standard safety features.
The bottom line: The 2021 is the right pick if you want the refreshed Pacifica with modern tech and a broad safety suite, especially if you value the updated cabin and family-friendly usability. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2021’s refresh and market softness make it a compelling target for shoppers who want a well-equipped minivan.
