Used 2021 Chevrolet Trax for Sale nearLos Angeles, CA

How much does the 2021 Chevrolet Trax cost?

Prices have softened 12.76% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,355 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Chevrolet Trax earns a 5/5 user rating and a 5.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 8/10.

The Trax is positioned as an affordable subcompact SUV, and its easy-to-use infotainment and small footprint make it especially appealing if you want a simple, city-friendly vehicle with straightforward controls. At the same time, the expert evaluation says it is ultimately uncompetitive, with sluggish performance, poor ride quality, and interior materials that feel cheap.

Trade-offs: sluggish performance; poor ride quality.

With 33.3% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Trax is described as an affordable, practical small SUV with helpful technology and maneuverability that can make daily driving easier. Its straightforward layout and city-friendly size support the idea of a vehicle that is easy to live with over time.

The performance notes also suggest a simple, conventional setup with a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder and a six-speed automatic, which can be a plus if you want a familiar powertrain. On the cost side, the Trax’s pricing and fuel economy help keep ownership manageable.

For used buyers, the bigger long-term risk is that the same compromises that show up in the expert review — especially weak performance and a firm ride — may become more noticeable as the vehicle ages.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Chevrolet Trax?

At 66.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of body panels, paint match, and signs of prior repair. It also makes sense to focus on how the vehicle drives, since the Trax’s ride quality and performance are already known weak points. If you’re comparing listings, condition should matter as much as price.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LS comes with a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot, and basic convenience features, while the LT adds heated power-adjustable mirrors, roof rails, remote start, cruise control, upgraded seating materials, and a cargo security cover. The LT is the better value if you want more everyday convenience and a more complete feature set.
• Powertrain: The Trax uses a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder with a six-speed automatic and front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. It is described as adequate around town but slow when you need highway passing power, and the ride can feel firm over rough pavement.
• Safety package: The Trax comes standard with airbags and a backup camera. The LT Convenience Package adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and rear parking sensors, but the model still lacks many driver-assistance features that rivals offer.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets a 7-inch touchscreen with Chevrolet Infotainment 3, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, voice control, two USB ports, and an available WiFi hotspot.
• Fuel efficiency: Front-wheel-drive models return 26 mpg city, 31 highway, and 28 combined, while all-wheel-drive models return 24 mpg city, 29 highway, and 26 combined.

Which 2021 Chevrolet Trax trim should I buy?

The 2021 Chevrolet Trax is offered in 2 trim levels: LS and LT.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, and it already gives you the Trax’s core appeal: a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a WiFi hotspot, and the basic city-friendly setup. If you want the lowest price and can live without extra convenience features, this is the trim to start with.
• LT: This is the better-value choice if you want the Trax to feel more complete. It adds heated power-adjustable mirrors, roof rails, remote start, cruise control, upgraded seating materials, a cargo security cover, and a 120-volt outlet, making it the smarter pick for most shoppers.

The LT Convenience Package adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and rear parking sensors.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Chevrolet Trax?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on strong examples.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,355 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.76% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 66.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,863, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $12,863 sits slightly below last year's $14,743.

That decline suggests the Trax has softened in the used market, which can work against you if you buy at the wrong price. For a future seller, that means resale value may remain under pressure unless the vehicle is especially clean, well maintained, and priced competitively.

The model’s affordability and practical city-friendly size can still help it attract budget-minded shoppers. But because the market has already moved down, you should expect resale to depend heavily on condition and mileage.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Trax safe?

The 2021 Chevrolet Trax earns five-star ratings from NHTSA, but it did not receive a Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ award from IIHS.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The Trax comes standard with airbags and a backup camera, but that is the extent of its standard driver-assistance equipment. The LT Convenience Package adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and rear parking sensors, though the model still falls short of the broader safety tech many rivals offer.

A key caveat is that you cannot get features such as forward-collision avoidance, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, or lane-departure warning on the Trax.

Should I buy a 2021 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.76% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 model keeps the Trax’s easy-to-use infotainment and city-friendly footprint while dropping the range-topping Premier trim from the lineup.

The bottom line: The 2021 Trax makes sense if you want an affordable, simple small SUV and you find a clean example at a strong price. If you are more price-sensitive, the softened market gives you room to shop carefully and wait for a well-kept LT rather than settling for the first available listing.
