Used 2021 Chevrolet Trax for Sale nearColorado Springs, CO

How much does the 2021 Chevrolet Trax cost?

Prices have softened 12.62% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,418 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Chevrolet Trax earns a 5/5 user rating and a 5.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 8/10.

The Trax’s appeal is tied to its affordable price, easy-to-use technology, and maneuverable footprint, which make it especially practical if you want a simple daily driver that fits well in tight spaces. At the same time, the expert notes make clear that it is ultimately uncompetitive, with sluggish performance, cheap-feeling interior materials, and poor ride quality holding it back.

The market shows 30.4% of listings priced as good or great deals, so you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Trax’s reliability story is more about straightforward hardware and familiar tech than standout durability claims. It uses a single turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder with a six-speed automatic, and the expert notes describe it as adequate around town but strained at highway speeds. The infotainment setup is a highlight, with easy-to-follow menus and hard controls that should make day-to-day use less frustrating.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Trax’s weak performance and sparse safety equipment may leave you feeling like you compromised too much, even if the vehicle itself proves dependable enough mechanically.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Chevrolet Trax?

At 67.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and signs of prior repair. Because the Trax’s value depends heavily on condition, it makes sense to focus on how well the interior, ride quality, and equipment have held up rather than assuming every example is equally clean. If you’re considering a higher-trim example, make sure the added features are actually present and functioning.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LS comes with a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot, and basic convenience features, while the LT adds heated power-adjustable mirrors, roof rails, remote start, cruise control, upgraded seating, and more. The LT is the better value if you want the more complete everyday setup.
• Powertrain: You get one turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder with 138 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic and front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. It is fine around town, but it struggles for passing and highway acceleration.
• Safety package: The Trax comes standard with airbags and a backup camera. The LT Convenience Package adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and rear parking sensors, but more advanced driver-assistance features are not offered.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets a 7-inch touchscreen with Chevrolet Infotainment 3, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, voice control, two USB ports, and an available WiFi hotspot.
• Fuel efficiency: Front-wheel drive returns 26 mpg city, 31 highway, 28 combined, while all-wheel drive returns 24 mpg city, 29 highway, 26 combined.

Which 2021 Chevrolet Trax trim should I buy?

The 2021 Chevrolet Trax is offered in 2 trim levels: LS and LT.

Here's the short version:

• LS: This is the entry point, and it already gives you the Trax’s strongest selling point: easy-to-use tech with a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a WiFi hotspot. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but the feature set is basic.
• LT: This is the best-value trim because it adds the most meaningful everyday upgrades, including remote start, cruise control, roof rails, upgraded seating, and more convenience features. If you want the Trax to feel less bare-bones, this is the one to target.

The LT Convenience Package adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and rear parking sensors.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Chevrolet Trax?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and enough price softness to reward comparison shopping.

• Deal availability: 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,418 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.62% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,930, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $13,097 sits slightly below last year's $14,988.

That decline suggests the Trax has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. If you shop carefully now, you may be starting from a lower cost basis than buyers who purchased earlier in the model year’s life cycle. Still, the Trax’s resale outlook depends heavily on condition and equipment, since the market clearly rewards cleaner, better-equipped examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Chevrolet Trax safe?

The 2021 Chevrolet Trax earns a five-star rating from NHTSA, but it did not receive a Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ award from IIHS.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The Trax comes standard with airbags and a backup camera, while the LT Convenience Package adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and rear parking sensors. That still leaves you without the more advanced driver-assistance features many rivals offer, including forward-collision avoidance, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-departure warning.

Should I buy a 2021 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 model’s biggest advantage is its easy-to-use infotainment and maneuverable footprint, which make it a practical city-friendly choice.

The bottom line: If you want the Trax’s low entry price and simple daily usability, the 2021 can make sense as a used buy, especially if you find a clean example at the lower end of the price range. If you’re more focused on performance, ride comfort, or advanced safety tech, you should broaden your search to other small SUVs rather than stretching for this one.
