How much does the 2021 Cadillac Escalade cost?

Prices have softened 10.56% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,454 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare trims, mileage, and condition.

Is the 2021 Cadillac Escalade a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a model that owners rate 5/5, and our experts score it 8.2/10. The standout strength is Form and function at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its technology, build quality, and stylish design, and many see it as a major improvement over earlier versions. The Escalade also fits buyers who want a full-size luxury SUV with a strong presence, a refined cabin, and a lot of tech.

The trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard and fuel economy is poor. In practical terms, that means you should value the Escalade most if you want a large, upscale SUV and can live with higher running costs.

With 34.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Cadillac Escalade reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. Reviewers also describe it as a significant improvement over previous models, and they repeatedly point to technology, build quality, and a trouble-free ownership experience as part of its appeal.

The powertrain is described as dependable, with strong V8 performance and a setup that should feel reassuring over time. The model also includes a no-cost turbo-diesel option, which adds another path for buyers who want a different ownership experience.

If you’re buying used, the main long-term risk is paying a premium for a large luxury SUV that can be expensive to keep in top condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Cadillac Escalade?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a vehicle-specific check. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on higher-mileage examples or trucks with more equipment. Focus on cabin condition, electronics, and signs of heavy use, since this is a luxury SUV where wear can matter as much as mileage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Luxury trim is decently equipped but offers little in the way of upgrades, while Premium Luxury and Sport add more desirable equipment. Premium Luxury and Sport also raise the safety ante with additional standard driver-assistance features, and Platinum versions push luxury further with more upscale materials.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a standard 6.2-liter V8 and an available 3.0-liter turbo-diesel inline six-cylinder engine. The V8 is the more likely choice if you want the familiar sound and stronger performance, while the diesel is the no-cost alternative.
• Safety package: Every Escalade includes forward collision warning, automatic forward emergency braking below 50 mph, front and rear pedestrian detection, Teen Driver technology, parking assist sensors, a surround-view camera, and a rear-seat reminder. Premium Luxury and Sport add blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and a rear camera mirror, while the Driver Assist Tech Package adds higher-speed forward emergency braking, rear emergency braking, automatic seatbelt tightening, and adaptive cruise control.
• Infotainment: The Escalade uses a curved-glass display measuring 38 inches across, with a 14.2-inch instrumentation screen and a 16.9-inch infotainment screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and AR navigation is standard as well.
• Fuel efficiency: The V8 is described as returning 16 mpg in combined driving in EPA estimates for the test vehicle, and the turbo-diesel is positioned as the efficiency-minded option.

Which 2021 Cadillac Escalade trim should I buy?

The 2021 Cadillac Escalade is offered in 4 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the entry point, and it’s the trim to consider if you want the Escalade’s core size, presence, and technology without stretching to the pricier versions. It’s decently equipped, but it offers little in the way of upgrades, so it makes the most sense if you’re focused on getting into the model at the lowest price.
• Premium Luxury: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more of the upscale feel buyers expect from an Escalade. It also brings more safety equipment than the base trim, making it the most balanced choice if you want luxury and useful features without going all the way to the top.
• Sport: Choose this if you want the same upscale content as Premium Luxury but prefer the blacked-out appearance and more aggressive look. It’s aimed at buyers who care about style as much as equipment.
• Platinum: This is the trim to buy if you want maximum luxury and the richest materials. It’s the top-end choice for shoppers who want the most premium cabin experience.

Premium Luxury and Sport trims add standard blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and a rear camera mirror.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Cadillac Escalade?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,454 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.56% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 76.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $54,465, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Cadillac Escalade's resale value?

The current average of $54,465 sits slightly below last year's $60,895.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment level. Well-kept examples with desirable trims and clean history should hold up better than average.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Cadillac Escalade safe?

The 2021 Cadillac Escalade earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Cadillac equips every Escalade with forward collision warning, automatic forward emergency braking below 50 mph, front and rear pedestrian detection, Teen Driver technology, front and rear parking assist sensors, a surround-view camera system, and a rear-seat reminder. Premium Luxury and Sport trims add blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and a rear camera mirror.

The optional Driver Assist Tech Package adds higher-speed forward emergency braking, rear emergency braking, automatic seatbelt tightening, and adaptive cruise control. That package is worth seeking out if you want the most complete safety setup on a used example.

Should I buy a 2021 Cadillac Escalade or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.56% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign brought a major leap in design, quality, and technology.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $59,442, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $54,465 average.
• It adds more standard convenience and safety features on the base trim.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2021 is the smarter buy because it already delivers the redesigned Escalade experience at a lower average price. If you’re willing to pay more for a slightly updated feature set, the 2022 is the better fit for buyers who want the newest version.
