How much does the 2021 Buick Envision cost?

Prices have softened 7.83% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,146 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used Envisions to compare.

Is the 2021 Buick Envision a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Buick Envision earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The redesigned model brings stylish design, easy-to-use technology, and a comfortable driving experience, which makes it especially appealing if you want a premium compact SUV that prioritizes comfort and straightforward tech. The trade-offs are that performance is fairly pedestrian and cargo space is limited, so it fits you best if you value a relaxed daily driver over a sporty or especially roomy one. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10. 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2021 Buick Envision reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2021 Envision’s redesign brought a new body structure and a more modern cabin, and its turbocharged 2.0-liter engine is described as competent enough for daily drivability. Buick also gives you a standard nine-speed automatic and a comfort-focused setup that should suit routine commuting well. The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a newer-generation model can have more unknowns than a carryover design, so a careful inspection and clean history report matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Buick Envision?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.7% — always verify the vehicle history report. You should still check the report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a full history review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the cabin electronics, tire wear, and any signs of hard use, since the Envision’s appeal depends heavily on condition and feature functionality. If you’re comparing examples, pay close attention to whether the equipment level matches the trim and options you want.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The three trim levels—Preferred, Essence, and Avenir—have distinct looks, and the Avenir adds a Black Ice Chrome mesh grille, body-color painted lowers and wheel arches, rear lens LED taillamps with a swipe-style turn sequence, 20-inch Avenir-specific pearl nickel wheels, leather-appointed seating with diamond perforated leather inserts, an Avenir-badged sill plate, trim-specific floor mats, and a head-up display. Buyers can add a Sport Touring package to the Preferred and Essence trims for darkened wheels and exterior accents.
• Powertrain: Buick replaced the previous base engine with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive available. The turbo-four is competent for daily drivability, but the model is not tuned for strong acceleration.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes a following distance indicator, forward-collision alert, front and rear park assist, lane change alert with blind-spot alert, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, rear-seat alert, automatic emergency braking, teen-driver monitoring, and Buckle to Drive. Adaptive cruise control and enhanced automatic park assist are available on Avenir models.
• Infotainment: You get a standard 10.2-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, and wireless Android Auto. A 4.2-inch driver information screen is standard, while an 8.0-inch driver information display is available. Navigation, HUD, a rearview camera mirror, and wireless device charging are available.
• Fuel efficiency: The FWD model gets an EPA-estimated 24 mpg in the city, 31 mpg on the highway, and 26 mpg combined. AWD versions are rated at 22 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined.

Which 2021 Buick Envision trim should I buy?

The 2021 Buick Envision is offered in 3 trim levels: Preferred, Essence, and Avenir.

Here's the short version:

• Preferred: This is the entry point, and it gives you the redesigned Envision’s core appeal at the lowest price. You still get the standard 10.2-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the full standard safety suite, so it covers the basics well if you want the best value.
• Essence: This trim is the logical step up if you want a more upscale feel without jumping all the way to the top model. It builds on the Preferred with a richer equipment mix and is a good middle ground for shoppers who want more comfort and style.
• Avenir: This is the most premium version, and it’s the one to choose if you want the Envision’s most distinctive design and the most upscale cabin treatment. It adds the most visual flair, the head-up display, and available adaptive cruise control and enhanced automatic park assist, making it the best fit if you want the most luxury-oriented Envision.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, while adaptive cruise control and enhanced automatic park assist are reserved for Avenir models.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Buick Envision?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,146 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.83% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 81.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,237, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Buick Envision's resale value?

The current average of $21,237 sits slightly below last year's $23,042. That tells you the market has cooled, which can work in your favor if you’re buying now but may limit upside if you plan to sell soon. For a future seller, the softer pricing means you should expect a more competitive resale environment unless your vehicle is especially clean, well-equipped, and well maintained. Strong condition and desirable trim content matter more when the market is already pricing the model below its prior-year level.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Buick Envision safe?

The 2021 Buick Envision has not yet been rated by either NHTSA or IIHS. It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes a following distance indicator, forward-collision alert, front and rear park assist, lane change alert with blind-spot alert, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, rear-seat alert, automatic emergency braking, teen-driver monitoring, and Buckle to Drive. Adaptive cruise control and enhanced automatic park assist are available on Avenir models. One notable limitation is that it does not offer GM’s Super Cruise hands-free system or lane-centering technology.

Should I buy a 2021 Buick Envision or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.83% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesigned 2021 model is the start of a new generation, bringing a more modern body and cabin with a standard 10.2-inch touchscreen and a more competitive premium compact SUV presentation.

The bottom line: The 2021 is the better pick if you want the redesigned Envision’s newer look, updated tech, and stronger market value. If you’re mainly shopping on price, a different year may be worth considering, but you’ll want to weigh that against the 2021’s newer-generation advantages and stronger feature set.
