Used 2021 BMW X7 for Sale nearOmaha, NE

How much does the 2021 BMW X7 cost?

Prices have softened 13.10% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,140 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2021 BMW X7 a good car?

Yes — the 2021 BMW X7 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the luxurious interior, spaciousness, and impressive driving experience, and they also call out the power and performance as major strengths. For a large luxury three-row SUV, that combination makes it especially appealing if you want something that feels upscale and rewarding to drive.

The main trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard, and the suspension can still let too much body motion through for a vehicle in this class. Even so, the X7’s size, premium feel, and strong road manners make it a compelling choice if you want a flagship-style family SUV.

Only 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market still rewards careful shopping.

Is the 2021 BMW X7 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with praise centered on its luxurious interior, spaciousness, and strong performance over time. That kind of feedback suggests you’re looking at a model that many owners feel good about living with long term.

The expert evaluation also describes the X7 as smooth and serene, with trustworthy driving-assistance technology and a powertrain that feels strong and refined. BMW also includes free scheduled maintenance for three years or 36,000 miles, which helps reduce early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about expensive luxury-SUV upkeep if the vehicle has been poorly maintained or heavily optioned.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 BMW X7?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on suspension behavior, electronics, and any signs of heavy wear from family use or city driving. You should also pay close attention to whether the vehicle has the equipment you want, since some of the most desirable safety and convenience features were not standard.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The X7 xDrive40i starts at an MSRP of $74,900, the X7 M50i starts at $99,800, and the Alpina XB7 starts at $141,300. The xDrive40i already brings a high-end cabin with premium materials and a strong feature set, while the higher trims add more exclusivity and equipment. The best-value choice is usually the xDrive40i if you want the core X7 experience without paying for the most decadent extras.
• Powertrain: The xDrive40i uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine with 335 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed sport automatic transmission and xDrive all-wheel drive. BMW’s 48-volt mild-hybrid system adds an electric boost effect, smoother stop/start behavior, and some efficiency help.
• Safety package: BMW equips the X7 with its safety technologies as standard features, except for what you get in the optional Driving Assistance Professional Package and the Parking Assistance Package. The Driving Assistance Professional Package adds Active Driving Assistant Pro with evasive-steering assist, traffic-jam assist, lane-control assist, emergency stop assist, and partially automated steering input on limited-access highways at speeds under 40 mph. The Parking Assistance Package adds semi-automated parallel parking assist, a surround-view camera, and a drive recorder system.
• Infotainment: The X7 uses a 12.3-inch display for both Live Cockpit Professional and iDrive 7.0 with navigation. For 2021, it adds Android Auto alongside Apple CarPlay, plus wireless smartphone charging, natural voice recognition, Connected Package Pro, and BMW Remote Services.
• Fuel efficiency: The xDrive40i is rated at 19 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined. On the test loop, it returned 19.8 mpg.

Which 2021 BMW X7 trim should I buy?

The 2021 BMW X7 is offered in 3 trim levels: X7 xDrive40i, X7 M50i, Alpina BX7.

Here's the short version:

• X7 xDrive40i: This is the trim most shoppers should start with because it delivers the core X7 experience: a strong turbocharged inline-six, standard all-wheel drive, a premium cabin, and the latest infotainment updates. It suits you best if you want the most balanced mix of luxury, performance, and value.
• X7 M50i: Choose this if you want more power and a more performance-focused feel than the xDrive40i. It makes sense if acceleration matters more to you than keeping the purchase price in check.
• Alpina BX7: This is the most exclusive and expensive version, aimed at buyers who want the most decadent equipment and the highest-end X7 experience. It’s the right pick if you want maximum luxury and are willing to pay for it.

BMW says advanced safety features are not standard, so you should pay close attention to whether a given X7 has the Driving Assistance Professional Package and the Parking Assistance Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 BMW X7?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,140 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.10% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 81.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $36,602, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 BMW X7's resale value?

The current average of $36,606 sits slightly below last year's $42,126.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you’re a future seller, the current pricing trend means you should expect a more competitive resale environment than last year.

The good news is that strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it’s time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 BMW X7 safe?

The 2021 BMW X7 earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

BMW makes its safety technologies standard, except for the optional Driving Assistance Professional Package and Parking Assistance Package. The Driving Assistance Professional Package adds Active Driving Assistant Pro with evasive-steering assist, traffic-jam assist, lane-control assist, emergency stop assist, and partially automated steering input on limited-access highways at speeds under 40 mph. The Parking Assistance Package adds semi-automated parallel parking assist, a surround-view camera, and a drive recorder system.

One caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, so you’ll want to confirm package content on any used example you’re considering. The expert review also notes that the lane-maintenance system can be reactive in some situations and that automated lane changes can feel abrupt.

Should I buy a 2021 BMW X7 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.10% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 model adds a 48-volt mild-hybrid powertrain to the xDrive40i and debuts the performance-tuned Alpina XB7.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current pricing, owner satisfaction, and updated powertrain content, the 2021 X7 is the better path. If you’re shopping mainly on price, a nearby year may still make sense, but the 2021 gives you a compelling balance of luxury, performance, and market value.
