Used 2021 BMW 4 Series for Sale nearStamford, CT

How much does the 2021 BMW 4 Series cost?

Prices have softened 6.31% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 667 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable selection to compare.

Is the 2021 BMW 4 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2021 BMW 4 Series earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The 4 Series is aimed at you if you want a coupe or convertible that feels more luxurious and tech-focused than the older BMW formula. Its appeal comes from its handling, its available xDrive all-wheel drive, and its upscale cabin presentation, but the design is polarizing, the manual transmission is gone, and the back seat is cramped.

The trade-offs are worth weighing carefully: the styling may not suit you, and the driving experience can feel less engaging than the badge suggests. Even so, 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 BMW 4 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2021 BMW 4 Series is described as refined and user friendly, with a more luxurious direction than earlier versions. Its powertrains are modern and efficient for the class, and the available 48-volt starter/generator on the M440i is aimed at improving fuel efficiency.

BMW’s standard warranty covers four years or 50,000 miles, with four years of free roadside assistance. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that luxury-car upkeep can be costly once warranty coverage ends.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 BMW 4 Series?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has optional equipment or higher mileage. Focus on overall condition, because the 4 Series can be expensive to bring up to the spec many shoppers want.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin is clean and uncluttered, with standard front sport seats, 10-way power adjustment, driver’s memory, paddle shifters, and a leather-wrapped sport steering wheel. The interior materials in the test car were good, but not quite at the level you might expect for the price.
• Powertrain: The 430i uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 255 horsepower and 294 pound-feet of torque. The M440i uses a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six with 382 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, plus a 48-volt starter/generator for better fuel efficiency. An eight-speed automatic is the only transmission.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assist features include lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, and speed-limit information. Adaptive cruise control requires the Driving Assistance Professional Package, which also adds steering assist and stop-and-go capability.
• Infotainment: The standard BMW iDrive 7 system includes an 8.8-inch touchscreen and a 5.1-inch display in the gauge cluster. The optional Live Cockpit Professional setup upgrades to a 10.25-inch central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard.
• Fuel efficiency: The RWD 430i is rated at 29 mpg combined, 26 mpg city, and 34 mpg highway. The AWD 430i xDrive is rated at 27 mpg combined, 24 mpg city, and 33 mpg highway.

Which 2021 BMW 4 Series trim should I buy?

The 2021 BMW 4 Series is offered in 2 trim levels: 430i and M440i.

Here's the short version:

• 430i: This is the better-value choice if you want the core 4 Series experience without paying for the six-cylinder upgrade. It gives you the standard tech, the standard safety equipment, and the same coupe-or-convertible body style, while still delivering strong performance and good efficiency.
• M440i: Choose this if you want the stronger engine and the more performance-oriented setup. It adds the 3.0-liter inline-six and the extra power that comes with it, but it costs more and is aimed more at buyers who care about speed than value.

Adaptive cruise control is not standard on either trim and requires the Driving Assistance Professional Package.

• Inventory: There are 667 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.31% compared with last year.

What is the 2021 BMW 4 Series's resale value?

The current average of $32,158 sits slightly below last year's $34,322.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than on broad market momentum alone.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 BMW 4 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.31% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It emphasizes technology and luxury more than the earlier BMW formula.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $35,432, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $32,158 average.
• It adds a five-door Gran Coupe body style with easier rear-seat access.

The bottom line: If you want the better value and are shopping for a coupe or convertible, the 2021 is the smarter starting point. If you need easier rear-seat access and can spend more, the 2022 is the better fit.
