Used 2021 BMW 4 Series for Sale near Connecticut

How much does the 2021 BMW 4 Series cost?

Prices have softened 7.11% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 659 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 BMW 4 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2021 BMW 4 Series earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The 4 Series is offered as a coupe and convertible, and BMW moved it in a more luxurious, technology-focused direction. That makes it a fit if you want a premium two-door that emphasizes style and features over everyday practicality.

The trade-offs are clear: the design may be polarizing, a manual transmission is not available, and the back seat is cramped.

Good and great deals account for 36.6% of listings, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2021 BMW 4 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2021 BMW 4 Series is described as refined and user friendly, and its standard eight-speed automatic helps keep the powertrain simple. The 430i’s turbocharged four-cylinder and the M440i’s turbocharged inline-six give you two established engine choices, and the M440i adds a 48-volt starter/generator for better fuel efficiency.

BMW’s standard warranty covers four years or 50,000 miles, with four years of free roadside assistance. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that luxury-car ownership can become expensive once warranty coverage ends.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 BMW 4 Series?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on higher-mileage examples or cars with optional equipment. Focus on overall condition, since luxury features and performance packages can add complexity and cost.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The coupe and convertible both emphasize style and technology, but the base setup leaves you without a manual transmission and with a cramped back seat.
• Powertrain: The 430i uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, while the M440i uses a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six with a 48-volt starter/generator for better fuel efficiency.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assist features include lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, and speed-limit information. Adaptive cruise control requires the Driving Assistance Professional Package.
• Infotainment: The standard system includes an 8.8-inch touchscreen, while the available Live Cockpit Professional setup adds a 10.25-inch central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant is included.
• Fuel efficiency: The RWD 430i is rated at 29 mpg combined, while the AWD 430i xDrive is rated at 27 mpg combined.

Which 2021 BMW 4 Series trim should I buy?

The 2021 BMW 4 Series is offered in 2 trim levels: 430i and M440i.

Here's the short version:

• 430i: This is the better-value choice if you want the core 4 Series experience without stepping up to the pricier six-cylinder model. It gives you the standard turbocharged four-cylinder, the coupe or convertible body style, and the same tech-forward cabin theme that defines the lineup.
• M440i: Choose this if you want the stronger six-cylinder engine and the more performance-oriented setup. It adds more power and is the right pick if you care more about acceleration and premium feel than keeping the price down.

The safety package note to keep in mind is that adaptive cruise control is not standard and requires the Driving Assistance Professional Package.

• Deal availability: 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 659 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.11% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $32,015, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 BMW 4 Series's resale value?

The current average of $32,025 sits slightly below last year's $34,478.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment.

Because this model year still has solid demand and a premium badge, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 BMW 4 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign brings a more luxurious, technology-focused cabin and a more distinctive look.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $35,491, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $32,025 average.
• It adds a Gran Coupe body style with easier rear-seat access and more cargo utility.

The bottom line: If you want the lower price and are focused on the coupe or convertible, the 2021 is the smarter buy. If you want the added practicality of the 2022 Gran Coupe and can spend more, that newer model is the better fit.
