What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Volvo XC60?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then inspect the vehicle closely for signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or poor repairs. Focus on overall condition, especially the cabin, electronics, and how the vehicle drives, since a premium SUV should feel tight and well sorted. If possible, test the braking and acceleration behavior carefully so you can judge whether the example you’re considering feels consistent and smooth.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Volvo XC60?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 810 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.16% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 81.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,663, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Volvo XC60's resale value?

The current average of $21,663 sits slightly below last year's $24,114.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. If you plan to sell later, the current softness means your resale outcome will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. A clean history and strong presentation matter more when the market is already pricing the model below prior-year levels.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.16% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $23,756, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $21,663 average.
• It adds a more refined, upscale feel with stronger everyday appeal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2020 if you want the better value and are shopping with price discipline. If you can stretch your budget and want the newer-year premium, the 2021 is the better secondary path.
