CarGurus Analysis: 2024 Volvo XC60
Summary
With 121 currently listed for sale and an average price of $37,228, 103.3% of 2024 Volvo XC60 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2024 Volvo XC60 5 / 5 stars.

Why it stands out
The 2024 Volvo XC60 stands out as a premium compact crossover that leans heavily on safety, technology, and clean Scandinavian design. Volvo’s best-selling vehicle has long been known for its standard safety tech and luxurious amenities, and the XC60’s appeal is rooted in that combination of practicality and polish. For buyers who want a five-passenger SUV that feels upscale without being flashy, the XC60’s straightforward design and strong safety reputation are major draws.
For 2024, the XC60 returns to standard all-wheel drive, and the mid-level B6 powertrain is no longer part of the lineup. The Black Edition also joins the range, exclusive to the top-end Ultimate trim, with Onyx Black paint, 21-inch gloss black alloy wheels, a crystal gear shift knob by Orrefors, and other black exterior and interior details. That gives the XC60 a more distinctive look for shoppers who want something a little more expressive than the standard model.
The XC60’s strengths are reinforced by its equipment and powertrain lineup. Standard features include a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, Thor’s Hammer LED headlights, and a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. The model also offers a 2.0-liter turbocharged 48V mild-hybrid inline-four, and the plug-in hybrid version remains part of the lineup. On the downside, the XC60 is not the roomiest choice in its class, with tight rear-seat legroom noted among its drawbacks, and some shoppers may also find its acceleration and braking less smooth than they’d like.

How much does the 2024 Volvo XC60 cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $37,965 |
| Year-Round Low | $37,326 |
| Year-Round High | $41,083 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $41,083 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −7.59% |
Prices have softened 7.59% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 2,332 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.
Is the 2024 Volvo XC60 a good car?
Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2024 Volvo XC60, and that lines up with its focus on safety, technology, and clean Scandinavian design. It’s a five-passenger premium compact crossover that emphasizes practicality and polish, with standard safety tech and upscale amenities as core strengths. If you want a luxury SUV that feels refined without being flashy, this model fits that use case well. 39.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2024 Volvo XC60 reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2024 Volvo XC60’s appeal is built around standard safety tech, a straightforward premium layout, and a strong reputation for safety. It also comes with a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, LED headlights, and a nine-inch touchscreen, which supports a well-equipped ownership experience. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic appeal and more about making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well and still feels tight in daily use.
What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Volvo XC60?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the specific listing matches its advertised condition and equipment. Put a priority on a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re sensitive to ride quality, braking feel, or interior wear. Focus your evaluation on overall condition, since the XC60’s appeal depends heavily on how polished and well-kept it feels.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Volvo XC60?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.
- Deal availability: 39.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 2,332 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.59% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 91.7% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $37,326, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2024 Volvo XC60's resale value?
The current average of $37,965 sits slightly below last year's $41,083.
That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more carefully now but may also mean future resale gains are more limited. If you plan to sell later, the current pricing trend points to a model that should remain competitive, but not necessarily one that will command a premium quickly. Strong condition and desirable equipment will matter more when it’s time to trade in or list privately.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2024 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2024 if:
- 39.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.59% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2023 if:
- At $32,678, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $37,965 average.
- It offers a practical plug-in hybrid setup with electric-only driving and gasoline backup.
The bottom line: If you want the newer model-year pricing context, strong inventory quality, and a broad selection, the 2024 is the better primary choice. If your priority is spending less up front and you like the plug-in hybrid formula, the 2023 is the smarter secondary path.
