That price decline suggests the Q5 has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer market than they would have a year ago. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can help protect your resale position. Demand should remain supported by the model’s upscale feel and broad appeal to comfort-focused luxury SUV shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Audi Q5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 38.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $21,486, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $18,783 average.
• It adds a plug-in hybrid option for buyers who want electrified driving.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2020 if you want the better value and a strong mix of comfort, equipment, and owner satisfaction. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model with a plug-in hybrid option, the 2021 is the better secondary path.
