What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Volvo S60?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus your inspection on signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or poor repairs. A thorough test drive should also confirm that the ride remains quiet and smooth, since those are core strengths of this model year.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Volvo S60?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep buyer’s market.

• Deal availability: 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 310 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.76% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 77.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,055, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Volvo S60's resale value?

The current average of $19,111 sits slightly below last year's $20,497.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more carefully now but may also limit upside if you plan to sell soon. If you’re thinking about resale, the current trend points to steady but not especially strong appreciation potential in the near term. A clean history and strong condition matter more when you want to protect value later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Volvo S60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.76% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $18,037, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $19,111 average.
• It offers strong value with a more mainstream, competitive small luxury sedan feel.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2020 if you want the stronger current-market mix of satisfaction, inventory, and pricing momentum. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2019 is the better secondary path because it comes in lower on price while still delivering many of the S60’s core strengths.
