Accident-free inventory is solid at 75% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a clean history report first, then confirm that the car’s condition matches the listing photos and description. The current average of $19,053 sits slightly below last year's $21,066.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For future resale, a lower purchase price can reduce your depreciation exposure if you plan to sell in a few years. Strong condition and a clean history will matter even more if you want to protect value later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Volvo S60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 75% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.56% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $18,060, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $19,053 average.
• It offers strong value with standard safety features and a distinctive design.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2020 if you want the stronger current-market mix of value, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2019 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
