Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection that checks for signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or deferred maintenance. Because the S60’s appeal depends heavily on comfort and refinement, a clean, well-kept car is especially important.

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

What is the 2020 Volvo S60's resale value?

The current average of $19,141 sits slightly below last year's $20,805.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more carefully now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that value retention depends on buying well and keeping the car in strong condition. A clean history and strong maintenance record should matter more than ever if you want to protect your exit price.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Volvo S60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.00% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $17,846, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $19,141 average.
• It offers strong value with appealing styling and a competitive small-luxury-sedan feel.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger overall ownership signal and are comfortable paying a bit more, the 2020 is the better primary target. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2019 is the smarter secondary path, especially if you find one with a clean history and good condition.
