Used 2020 Toyota Sienna for Sale near Illinois

How much does the 2020 Toyota Sienna cost?

Prices have softened 8.11% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,228 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Toyota Sienna a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Toyota Sienna earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its smooth driving experience, comfort, and spacious cargo area. The user feedback also points to strong safety features and reliability, which helps explain the high satisfaction score.

That lines up with the Sienna’s use case as a space-first family hauler: it is built for people, gear, and everyday versatility rather than flash. The main trade-offs are its dated cabin design and some disappointment around pricing and missing automated features on lower-end models.

With 35.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Toyota Sienna reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights reliability, along with a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience that helps you feel confident about keeping it for the long haul. The expert evaluation also emphasizes the Sienna’s practical, family-focused durability and its ability to serve as a versatile daily hauler.

The ownership risk for used buyers is mostly about finding a well-kept example, since condition and maintenance history matter more than the model’s overall reputation.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Toyota Sienna?

At 67.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are comparing multiple listings at similar prices. Focus on body condition, interior wear, and signs of uneven use, since the Sienna’s value depends heavily on how well it has been maintained.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base L comes with a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, a WiFi hot spot, Apple CarPlay, and a relatively well-equipped cabin, while the LE adds dual power sliding doors, black roof rails, easy-clean upholstery, and manual second- and third-row sunshades. The SE is the recommended trim because it adds 19-inch wheels, a mesh grille, fog lights, heated front seats, leather upholstery, and a power rear liftgate, which is especially useful for families.
• Powertrain: All trims use a 3.5-liter V6 with 296 horsepower and an 8-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and AWD is available on all trims except the base L; AWD versions are limited to the 7-passenger configuration.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense P includes lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, forward-collision warning and avoidance with pedestrian detection, dynamic cruise control, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring is optional on lower trims and standard on XLE and Limited.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets a 7-inch touchscreen, and the system supports Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, Bluetooth, and a WiFi hotspot. The screen size does not increase on higher trims, though upper trims add navigation and premium audio.
• Fuel efficiency: The front-wheel-drive model returns 19 mpg city, 26 highway, and 21 combined. AWD versions return 18/24/20.

Which 2020 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?

The 2020 Toyota Sienna is offered in 8 trim levels: L, LE, SE, SE Premium, XLE, XLE Premium, Limited, and Limited Premium.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the entry point, but it is still fairly well equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, a WiFi hotspot, three-zone climate control, and multiple USB and 12-volt outlets. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Sienna, but you give up the convenience upgrades that matter most for family use.
• LE: This is the family-friendly value pick because it adds dual power sliding doors, easy-clean upholstery, roof rails, and sunshades. If you want the best balance of price and everyday usefulness, this is the trim to target.
• SE: This is the CarGurus-recommended trim, and it adds the power rear liftgate, which is a major convenience upgrade for busy households. It also brings sportier styling, heated front seats, and leather upholstery, making it the best-value choice for many shoppers.
• SE Premium: This trim adds a moonroof, a DVD entertainment system, and the EasySpeak intercom system. It suits you if rear-seat entertainment and extra comfort features matter more than keeping the budget in check.
• XLE: This trim adds leather-trimmed seating, heated front seats, an upgraded instrument panel, woodgrain accents, and one-touch power windows. It is a good fit if you want a more upscale cabin without jumping all the way to the top end.
• XLE Premium: This trim builds on the XLE with additional premium touches and is the step to consider if you want more comfort and convenience without going fully luxury-oriented.
• Limited: This trim adds leather front seats, leatherette second- and third-row seats, a heated leather-trimmed steering wheel, JBL premium audio, and navigation. It is the right choice if you want the most upscale mainstream Sienna experience.
• Limited Premium: This is the most fully equipped version, adding the DVD entertainment system, HID headlights, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. It makes sense if you want the most features and are willing to pay for them.

Blind-spot monitoring is optional on lower trims and standard on XLE and Limited.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Toyota Sienna?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it rewards patience and comparison shopping.

• Deal availability: 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,228 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.11% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,161, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Toyota Sienna's resale value?

The current average of $26,458 sits slightly below last year's $28,794.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market momentum.

Because the Sienna still draws strong shopper interest for space and practicality, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones. Listings with desirable features and clean history are likely to hold up better than stripped or heavily used examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Toyota Sienna safe?

The 2020 Toyota Sienna earns five-star ratings from NHTSA and a Good result from IIHS in many areas, including side crash, rollover crash, and moderate front overlap crash.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense P is standard, and it includes lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, forward-collision warning and avoidance with pedestrian detection, dynamic cruise control, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring is optional on lower trims and standard on XLE and Limited.

The main caveat is the Sienna’s twitchy steering, which makes its standard lane-keeping tech especially relevant for highway driving.

Should I buy a 2020 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It offers standard advanced safety features and the only available AWD in its class.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $34,107, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $26,458 average.
• It brings a major redesign with a standard hybrid powertrain.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2020 is the smarter buy because it combines lower pricing with strong satisfaction and useful family features. If efficiency and a major redesign matter more than upfront cost, the 2021 is the better long-term alternative.
