Is the 2020 Tesla Model X a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Tesla Model X earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Is the 2020 Tesla Model X reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience for many shoppers, with praise centered on performance, technology, and the ability to count on the vehicle for daily use. What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Tesla Model X?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report so you can confirm accident status, title history, and any other red flags before you move forward. After that, put a detailed inspection at the top of your list, with extra attention on body alignment, panel fit, and the condition of the Falcon Wing doors. It also makes sense to focus on overall cosmetic and mechanical condition, since owner feedback points to some minor quality issues.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Tesla Model X?

This is a moderate market, so you can buy now if the right listing checks your boxes, but you should still compare carefully and avoid rushing.

• Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 332 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.21% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 77.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $33,618, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Tesla Model X's resale value?

The current average of $36,390 sits slightly above last year's $35,259.

That upward move suggests the market has held up reasonably well for this model year, which can help support resale confidence if you buy carefully. Because prices are already above the prior-year average, a well-kept example may be easier to move later than one with visible wear or a questionable history. Strong condition and clean records matter even more when you want to protect value over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Tesla Model X or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.21% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 Model X makes the most sense if you want the familiar Tesla formula with strong owner satisfaction, a moderate supply of listings, and a market that still supports demand. If your priority is the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2020 remains the better all-around choice if you value the balance of features, satisfaction, and market stability.
