How much does the 2020 Subaru Impreza cost?

Prices have softened 5.06% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 783 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2020 Subaru Impreza a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Subaru Impreza earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its ride quality, handling, and fuel efficiency, and the all-wheel-drive setup is a major reason it stands out for year-round confidence. It fits especially well if you want a practical compact car that is easy to live with without giving up secure road manners. With 32.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Subaru Impreza reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with owners highlighting the car’s long-term appeal through its ride quality, handling, and fuel efficiency. That kind of feedback suggests you can count on it for everyday use if you choose a well-kept example. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the model’s core appeal and more about finding one that has been maintained and not worn down by heavy use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Subaru Impreza?

At 66.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on overall condition, maintenance evidence, and signs of cosmetic or structural wear, since those details matter most when you are comparing used examples.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Subaru Impreza?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 783 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.06% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 66.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,974, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Subaru Impreza's resale value?

The current average of $16,308 sits slightly below last year's $17,177.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can help you if you are shopping now but may limit upside if you plan to sell soon. Even so, the Impreza’s practical appeal and steady demand should help it remain recognizable to future buyers. A well-kept example with strong history and clean condition should be easier to move than one with visible wear or accident history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Subaru Impreza or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $17,054, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $16,308 average.
• It adds SI-Drive on Premium trims for a bit more driving flexibility.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the better starting point if you want the stronger value proposition and are comfortable shopping carefully for condition. If you want a slightly newer model and do not mind paying more, the 2021 is the cleaner secondary path.
