There are 716 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2020 Subaru Impreza a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Subaru Impreza earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its ride quality, handling, and fuel efficiency, and the standard all-wheel drive is a major reason it stands out for everyday use. It also fits well if you want a practical all-weather compact car that balances stability and usability. With 36.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2020 Subaru Impreza reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also emphasizes that the Impreza feels dependable in daily use, with owners repeatedly highlighting its trouble-free character, all-wheel-drive confidence, and overall long-term appeal. That kind of owner sentiment suggests you should expect a used example to reward careful maintenance rather than demand constant attention. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the model’s core reputation and more about how well a specific car was maintained and treated.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Subaru Impreza?

At 64.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with accident records. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on overall condition, maintenance evidence, and signs of past repair quality rather than relying on mileage alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Subaru Impreza?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 716 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.88% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,974, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Subaru Impreza's resale value?

The current average of $16,039 sits slightly below last year's $17,223.

That softer pricing suggests the Impreza has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face some pressure if the market stays loose. If you buy at a strong price and keep the car in good condition, you can help protect your position when it’s time to sell. Demand should remain supported by the model’s practical appeal and all-wheel-drive reputation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Subaru Impreza or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.88% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $17,001, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $16,039 average.
• It adds SI-Drive drive modes on the Premium trim.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the better value if you want the lower average price and a healthier deal pool. If you’re willing to pay more for a slightly newer model with a modest feature update, the 2021 is the cleaner upgrade path. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2020 is the smarter starting point.
