Used 2020 RAM 2500 for Sale nearParkersburg, WV

How much does the 2020 RAM 2500 cost?

Prices have softened 7.85% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,603 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of trucks to compare.

Is the 2020 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 2020 RAM 2500 earns a 4.9/5 user rating and an 8.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, comfortable ride, and impressive interior features. The review summary also points to strong towing capability and a reliable Cummins diesel engine, while the cabin’s upscale feel stands out for many shoppers.

The main trade-offs are sluggish performance and weaker fuel economy compared with competitors. That said, the truck’s heavy-duty mission and refined cabin make it a strong fit if you want a capable work truck that still feels special day to day. With 32.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s meaningful room to shop carefully.

Is the 2020 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary highlights reliability, with praise for the Cummins diesel engine and the truck’s ability to handle towing duties with confidence. The expert driving notes also emphasize that this is a truck built for hard use, with strong stopping control from the diesel exhaust brake and a setup meant to handle daily hauling without getting tired.

The ownership risk to watch is that heavy-duty trucks can be expensive to keep in top shape if they’ve been worked hard, so you should pay close attention to maintenance records and signs of wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 RAM 2500?

At 71.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough inspection of the frame, suspension, brakes, and towing-related hardware. It also makes sense to focus on cabin condition and evidence of hard use, since these trucks are often bought to work.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The truck’s six trim levels range from a more work-focused setup with steel wheels and a standard 5-inch touchscreen to upper trims with very upscale materials, LED headlights, chrome accents, and an optional 12-inch vertical touchscreen. The higher trims are where the cabin really becomes a standout, while the base setup is much more utilitarian.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque or a 6.7-liter Cummins inline-six diesel with 370 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque. The gasoline V8 brings the highest payloads, while the diesel is the better pick if towing strength matters most.
• Safety package: Most driver assists are optional, including blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise, and forward emergency braking. If safety tech matters to you, check carefully for equipment that may not be standard on the truck you’re considering.
• Infotainment: A 5-inch touchscreen is standard, but the 8.4-inch Uconnect upgrade is the one most shoppers will want. The available 12-inch display adds a much easier-to-use interface, with trailer settings, 360-degree camera views, and dual rear-view camera support.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert test-drive data notes that the EPA does not rate heavy-duty trucks for fuel economy, but it also says the diesel averaged close to 19 mpg over 515 mostly highway miles.

Which 2020 RAM 2500 trim should I buy?

The 2020 RAM 2500 is offered in 6 trim levels: Tradesman, Laramie Longhorn, Limited, and three additional trims referenced in the expert review’s trim-level discussion.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the value-oriented starting point, with steel wheels and a standard 5-inch touchscreen. It makes sense if you want the core heavy-duty capability and plan to add only the equipment you truly need.
• Laramie Longhorn: This trim is where the cabin starts to feel genuinely upscale, with very rich materials and a much more premium presentation. It suits you if you want a truck that feels more like a luxury vehicle inside.
• Limited: This is the best-value choice if you want the full luxury-and-tech experience, since the review highlights its outstanding materials, 12-inch vertical touchscreen, and top-tier cabin execution. It’s the trim that most clearly delivers the RAM 2500’s “special” feel.

The safety content notes that most driver assists are optional, so check each truck carefully for the features you want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 RAM 2500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,603 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.85% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 71.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $38,271, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $38,450 sits slightly below last year's $41,724.

That price movement suggests the truck has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help you if you buy now and hold it for a while. If demand stays steady, a well-kept example should remain easier to resell than a truck with a rough history or heavy wear.

Because the market is still showing solid deal availability, your future resale outcome will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment. Trucks with cleaner histories and desirable trims should be easier to move later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 RAM 2500 safe?

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety review says the RAM 2500 will not be rated by NHTSA or IIHS. Most driver assists are optional, including blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise, and forward emergency braking, so you should verify exactly what’s installed on any used truck you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2020 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 71.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.85% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert review highlights a truck that combines luxury, technology, and capability in a way that makes it especially appealing for buyers who want a refined heavy-duty pickup.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of comfort, capability, and upscale presentation, the 2020 is the one to target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can still shop carefully and focus on the cleanest, best-equipped examples, but the 2020 already looks attractive thanks to softer pricing and solid inventory.
