Used 2020 Nissan Rogue for Sale near Minnesota

How much does the 2020 Nissan Rogue cost?

Prices have softened 7.36% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,879 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2020 Nissan Rogue a good car?

Yes — it earns a 4.7/5 from owners and a 6/10 from our experts. The model scores 7/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, driving experience, cargo space, and gas mileage, which makes it appealing if you want an easy-to-live-with compact crossover. The overview also frames it as a practical, all-purpose SUV with broad appeal for everyday use.

The trade-offs are clear: experts call out poor value for money, sluggish performance, and unintuitive technology. That means you may like it most if you prioritize comfort and utility over driving excitement or a cutting-edge interface. Even so, 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Nissan Rogue reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience centered on comfort, everyday usability, and features you can count on. The review summary also highlights strong cargo space and gas mileage, which supports the idea that this is a practical long-term companion for routine driving.

The expert review adds that the Rogue’s age shows in some areas, but its core formula remains straightforward and familiar. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about complexity and more about condition, maintenance history, and whether the vehicle has been treated carefully.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Nissan Rogue?

At 68.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a lower-priced example. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the vehicle’s equipment and features work as expected. Because the Rogue’s value proposition depends heavily on getting a clean, well-kept example, condition matters a lot.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Available in S, SV, and SL trim levels with a single engine and transmission combination and a choice between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The SL test vehicle adds the SL Premium Package, and the interior materials are described as less impressive than the exterior styling.
• Powertrain: It uses a 170-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission. The setup is adequate, but acceleration can feel noisy and underwhelming when merging, passing, or climbing grades.
• Safety package: Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking for the front and rear, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and automatic high-beam headlights. A surround-view camera and ProPilot Assist adaptive cruise control with lane-centering capability are available, but they are not standard.
• Infotainment: Every Rogue infotainment system includes a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a hands-free text messaging assistant. Higher trims can add SiriusXM satellite radio, navigation with door-to-door assistance via smartphone app, a Bose premium sound system, and NissanConnect Services.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA leads you to expect 29 mpg in combined driving for front-wheel-drive versions, but testing returned no better than 24.9 mpg on a mixed loop.

Which 2020 Nissan Rogue trim should I buy?

The 2020 Nissan Rogue is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SV, SL.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the simplest way into the Rogue lineup, and it makes sense if you want the core Rogue formula without paying for extras. It gives you the same basic engine, transmission, and standard Safety Shield 360 package, so it covers the essentials well.
• SV: This is the trim that most shoppers should start with because it balances equipment and value better than the entry model. It’s the best-value choice if you want a more complete feature set without moving all the way to the top trim.
• SL: This is the most upscale Rogue here, and it’s the one to choose if you want the most polished presentation and the available extras that make the cabin feel more complete. It suits you best if you care more about comfort and equipment than keeping the purchase price down.

Safety Shield 360 is standard across the lineup, while ProPilot Assist and the surround-view camera remain available rather than standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Nissan Rogue?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,879 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.36% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 68.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,015, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Nissan Rogue's resale value?

The current average of $15,015 sits slightly below last year's $16,207.

That decline suggests the Rogue has softened in the used market, which can be good news if you’re buying now but less favorable if you’re planning to sell soon. A lower current average price can make it easier to attract shoppers, but it also means you may need to price competitively to move your vehicle.

The year-over-year drop also points to a market that is rewarding buyers more than sellers at the moment. If you own a clean, well-maintained example with desirable equipment, you’ll be in a better position than the average listing. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Nissan Rogue safe?

The Rogue earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with a three-star rating for the driver in a frontal-impact collision, and it does not earn a Top Safety Pick designation from IIHS.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking for the front and rear, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and automatic high-beam headlights. Rear Door Alert and Tire Fill Alert are also included, and ProPilot Assist with lane-centering capability is available.

The main caveat is that the crash-test results reflect the Rogue’s age, especially in frontal-impact protection and headlight performance. If safety is a top priority, you should pay close attention to trim equipment and verify whether the available driver-assistance features you want are included on the specific listing.

Should I buy a 2020 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 68.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.36% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 Rogue is still a simple, practical compact crossover with standard Safety Shield 360 and broad everyday appeal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $18,134, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $15,015 average.
• It brings a redesigned, more premium-feeling interior and a better overall execution.

The bottom line: If you want the better bargain, the 2020 is the smarter buy because it’s cheaper and still delivers the Rogue’s practical strengths. If you can stretch your budget and want a more polished SUV, the 2021 is the better long-term path.
