How much does the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS cost?

Prices have softened 15.35% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

Is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS.

The 2020 GLS stands out as the roomiest vehicle in Mercedes-Benz’s lineup, with three rows of seating for six or seven people and up to 94 cubic feet of cargo space. It is aimed at you if you want a large, upscale SUV that blends Mercedes comfort with family-friendly space and a polished ride. The second-generation redesign also brought a curvier exterior, a wider cabin presentation, and a longer wheelbase and body, which reinforces its luxury-first appeal.

The market also shows 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2020 GLS is described as a well-equipped luxury SUV with standard 4Matic all-wheel drive, Airmatic air suspension, and a long list of convenience and safety features. Its cabin quality and technology are strong, and the model’s overall package is built around comfort and refinement rather than complexity for its own sake. That said, touch-sensitive controls can be frustrating, so you should expect some ownership annoyance even if the core vehicle feels solid.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about expensive luxury-SUV upkeep if prior maintenance has been inconsistent.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus your inspection on signs of prior damage, uneven wear, and any evidence of neglected maintenance. Pay close attention to the cabin controls, third-row access, and overall interior condition, since this model’s technology and packaging are central to the ownership experience. A careful test drive should also confirm that the ride feels composed and that all comfort and convenience features work as expected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 794 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.35% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 76.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $32,047, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS's resale value?

The current average of $32,047 sits slightly below last year's $37,857.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right number. If you purchase near the lower end of the current range and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned when it is time to sell. The GLS’s luxury positioning and broad appeal to three-row SUV shoppers can help support demand, especially when the vehicle presents well.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.35% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $46,327, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $32,047 average.
• It adds a more flagship-like luxury focus with broader performance and technology appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid deal availability and a strong satisfaction signal. If you are willing to spend more for the newer model-year experience, the 2021 is the better secondary path for buyers who want the upgraded luxury and performance emphasis.
