Is the 2020 Mazda CX-9 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

For used buyers, that kind of consistent praise can reduce long-term ownership risk, especially if you verify maintenance history and overall condition before you buy.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Mazda CX-9?

At 64% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body panels, alignment, tires, and signs of uneven wear, since those can reveal past collision issues. It also helps to focus on cabin condition and electronics, because the CX-9’s premium features are part of its appeal.

If you find a listing below $19,095, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Mazda CX-9's resale value?

The current average of $19,095 sits slightly below last year's $21,257.

That price movement suggests the CX-9 has softened in the used market, which can matter if you plan to sell later. A lower entry price can help you limit depreciation exposure, but it also means resale gains may be more modest if the market stays soft. Strong condition and a clean history will matter more if you want to protect value over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Mazda CX-9 or consider a different year?

• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.17% compared with last year.

Consider the 2019 if:

• It emphasizes roomy, safe family use with stylish handling.

Consider the 2021 if:
